Goodmorning lovely ones! A tropical day in the Netherlands and sweat is dripping on my desk… weather like this isn’t for ‘women of a certain age’ so I won’t write much, I won’t create much, I won’t do anything much today but stay in the cool (where?) and read a book. But I did wrote a haiku ánd have a few things to show so here we go…
Friday haiku
Kindergelach en de geur van zonnebrandcreme. Zomer in Zeeland. |
Children’s laughter and the smell of sunprotector. Summer in Zeeland. |

I submit this haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share a haiku on Friday: Haiku my Heart

I told you last week that the package I sent to my friend and fellow artist Robert (in the USA) was all damaged when it arrived and was missing pieces/stuff… so I created a new piece of art and sent him a ‘bonus package’ while keeping my fingers crossed… and HOORAY HOORAY, it arrived save and sound within a week so I can now show you what I made for him
I haven’t published my ‘Chronicles’ spreads in weeks, so here’s some oldies
The Chronicles of Marit 2020 – Week 27
Me, getting angry when I go outside and see large groups – tourists mostly – that don’t stick to the rule of keeping their distance and flock together like nothing’s happened…
The Chronicles of Marit 2020 – Week 28
Yep, I was tested on Covid 19 in week 28. I had mild symptoms but I didn’t have the virus, pfew!
The Chronicles of Marit 2020 – Week 29
A cartoon my dad sent me and ‘rambling writing.’
And that’s it for today, it’s getting hot in my atelier so I’m off to find me a spot in the shade somewhere… you all enjoy your day, stay cool and keep on rockin’ in the free world!
Je t’embrasse
Your delightful haiku is made even more delightful by those green-accented shovels stuck in the beach sand. Thanks for making me smile. Have a happy weekend!
So glad the test was negative Marit. Gorgeous piece for your friend Robert. Pity the first parcel was damaged. Hope it’s a bit cooler soon.
Wonderfully captured, Marit. I don’t want to be in that heat.
I’m rockin’ honeygirl!
What a grand time you must have had!! Wishing you all the best this weekend!
I too love the shovels that Lena captured in image and you in word. Again, I too want to be at my own ocean, but can not at this time… so I’m a bit like you in the third photo… Thank you for sharing your artmaking. I always love seeing what you are up to! I hope those cool, ocean breezes wrap themselves around you and give you some respite from the heat!
Love this happy haiku. Happy Saturday Marit
