Friday haiku: Tide

June 26, 2020 By Marit 11 Comments

Friday haiku

Ribbel na ribbel
trekt het water zich terug
een schelp blijft achter
The water withdraws
sea pulls back, ridge after ridge
a small shell remains

The photos (the one that is on the ‘home’ page as well as this one) were taken by Lena Schreijenberg

I submit this haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share a haiku on Friday: Haiku my Heart

Je t’embrasse

This is beautiful and poignant Marit. I am so grateful to you and Lena, always, for the beauty of your zeeland that you share. And for being in my life Marit. A hug to you from here.

I love the reflection of clouds in the water. As above, so below.

And what is the lesson in that small shell? Will we ever know?

Yes, the sea. Ever pushing and pulling. One of my favorite subjects. xo

The sea knows how to come and go at the proper time.
