Friday Haiku & “Ute”

February 15, 2019 By Marit 3 Comments

Hey there lovelies, here’s a note from me in my sun-drenched corner… Yes, Spring is in the air today and I went for a walk this morning ánd visited a second-hand store where I found some ‘treasures’. That’s why I am a little late posting this, but I am a happy girl!

Before I stepped out the house, I saw this photo on Facebook that my friend Lena took early this morning. On her way to work she captured the sunrise, the same sun I walked in later… I noticed Venus is visible on this photo still (wáy on the right, you may wanna enlarge the photo by clicking on it) and I wrote a haiku.

Friday haiku

Photo made by my friend Lena Schreijenberg

De dag gaat open
Venus straalt nog helder, maar
wordt weldra verjaagd
The day opens up
Morning star still shines bright but
will soon be expelled

I submit this haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share a haiku on Friday: Haiku my Heart.

Two weeks ago, I showed you “Rosel’s booklet” that I worked on for the Add and PASSport project (you can find that post here.) I had so much fun working on the pages that I volunteered to do another spread and I recieved a similar “FGDB booklet” to work in. It belonged to a woman named “Ute”… I won’t spill any more details for privacy reasons ’cause this woman is around my age and still alive and kicking…  but I made this two-paged spread that I can show you (The girl on the photo is a model.)

I had my lunch and now I’m ready to play with my new ‘finds’… thanks for stopping by my blog and enjoy your day, every minute of it!

Sunlight is always brighter than starlight, but I do enjoy the stars while they’re shining.

I love how you walked in the same light, the same sun, the same day as your friend’s gorgeous photograph! How precious the light of the stars before they slip to sleep… a jewel to the crown the day, even if we can no longer see it. Have fun with your new finds and your art-making my friend! XO
