There was a time, years ago, that I joined the online haiku circle Haiku my Heart.
I wrote a haiku every Friday.
I haven’t forgotten.
I now live in another town.
My ‘home’ is an apartment
in a rotten, concrete building.
There is no garden.
.
I get out of bed and make coffee.
Mug in hand, I step onto the balcony.
Late Summer.
The tree lost some leaves already,
which makes the ugly building behind it
visible.
A taste of the bare winter view
that will surely come.
I change my view.
I zoom in on the balcony railing,
and smile.
There’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in… (Leonard Cohen)
| Kaal. Massief beton. Ondoordringbaar. Groen korstmos doet ferm een poging. |
Impenetrable. Solid concrete. But lichen does a bold attempt. |
It’s good to join the Haiku circle
and virtual embrace Rebecca again
It might be just this one week
or I might pick up where I left years ago
and write a haiku every week.
We’ll see….
Have a great weekend y’all.

Oh how happy was I to find your post today my dear Marit! Welcome back to this circle. And thank you for this glimpse into your world, a crack in the door that lets me in to say how much you mean to me. In your haiku comment you spoke of the full moon… to think that as I gazed at it last night, you were as well as were many others and our hearts are joined no matter how many miles and time zones between us. Much love to you!
Welcome back, Marit. ๐ Please pick up where you left off. ๐
Oh so glad to read your lovely words and to ‘see you’ again ~ Come back often ~
Happy Weekend to you ~ ^_^
Thanks for sharing your new environment, which is haiku inspiring as well
Have a good weekend
much love…
Good to see you back, Marit! I like the way you turn your attention to the little things to get a new perspective on life.
Great to see you here dear Marit. Love the Leonard Cohen quote. Knowing you I am sire that love and light come into your home through that crack.
When I saw your name on Rebecca’s blog, I thought- it’s been a long time since I’ve seen this friend! Welcome back and please write often. I love Cohen’s quote about how the light gets in; a book written by Louise Penney using part of that quote on her title.
So happy you are joining in again Marit. Thanks for visiting my blog. I wish you colorful flowers, singing birds and much light through those cracks. ๐
dear marit,
i love when a friend returns and no matter how long it has been-the comfort of being together once more fills the air with light. thank you for being here sharing your heart. thank goodness for tiny feather edged lichen softening your world. thank goodness for arms of trees – full or barren – holding up the sky. thank goodness for your courageous heart- a garden of light- transforming even the impenetrable.
thank you for gracing us all with your perspective, your love, your truth.
so glad you returned; i am savoring your presence.
xo
I’m visiting your blog for the first time, and it’s a sheer delight. Hope to see you every Friday! ๐
