Haiku on Friday – Sleepless night

August 31, 2018 By Marit 9 Comments

Slapeloze nacht
in de verte slaat een klok
het uur van de wolf
Another sleepless night
a clock strikes in the distance
the hour of the wolf

I submit today’s haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share haiku on this Friday event Haiku my Heart.

I know exactly what you mean about sleepless nights, Marit. That’s why I’m here at 2:20 on Friday. Ugh! Thanks for being here, so that I have somewhere to go while the rest of the world is sleeping!

How eerie. But I do like the last line. The hour for evil?

Scary right, but I like the last line. The hour of the wolf, perhaps an evil hour? 🙂

In my part of the world it would be the hour of the coyote—and I do love to hear them howl when the rest of the world is asleep and I am sleepless.

suddenly my early morning musings are accompanied by howling coyotes and a thousand stars. summer has taken her bright bookends of early sunrises and late sunsets and we are plunged into longer nights and placing another blanket on the bed of our dreams. oh summer you are so hard to let go of! wolves or coyotes-may our sleepless nights at the very least be star filled.
