I still “LIKE” my blog most

October 12, 2015 By Marit 18 Comments

While typing this, I’m still in doubt if I should show you four of my latest Chronicles spreads, or that it will be too much for you to consume in one post… but I don’t like what I made in week 37 and 38 much, and I don’t want to write a post with only art pages I am not satisfied about… I don’t want to skip those pages either so here you have it, FOUR art journal spreads in one post.

I’m pretty busy lately, both in my atelier as well as in the rest of the house (cleaning, decorating) and outside (visiting exhibitions and meeting friends.) I don’t write those long blogposts I used to write anymore… For one: writing in English – which is not my mother-language – takes time. I used to spent a whole morning on writing a blogpost. And second: I have the feeling that not many people visit and read blogs anymore. Everyone’s riding the fast lane on Facebook these days so I feel pretty lonely keeping this blog in the air. But hey, I’m pigheaded so I won’t abandon my blog. It’s ideal to show my art so here you go, four pages of art journaling. Enjoy!

Heel herkenbaar!

I can see in my statics that my blog (still) has a lot of traffic/readers – but it’s nice to receive comments and that has slowed down immense… so thank you all for letting me know you are here because after all, it’s not only for myself but for YOU too that I write this blog for.

Not only Facebook, but other social media seem to have slowed all blog traffic. But, if I see something on Pinterest, I always go to the link and hope it is a blog post! Keep making art, keep blogging!

Keep up the good work!

Jenny: I made/bound this journal myself. The inside paper is 180 gr. (83 Lbs) thick paper (sort of watercolour paper… with just a little bit roughness.) I hardly ever work in bought journals… but I do have two ‘altered books’ going on as well.

(persoonlijke mening hoor).

I think blogs are still a good place to hold longer posts. I like how blogposts are there to stay, and to refer back to later. On facebook and the likes, a post is old news so much faster, and people (me too!) read there with a different mentality. Compare it to a magazine: there are pages filled with a bunch of very compact items, and there are longer feature articles.
