Goodmorning lovelies on this tropical morning in the Netherlands.
Oh yes, temperatures are high overhere so I found it appropriate to take a photo of the coolest little alley that can be found just around the corner of my house…. it’s an intriguing little alley/passage and my town has many of those back alleys, little gates and passages… I do love to wander through these back alleys. This one is called “Isabellagang” (Isabella-passage) and I wonder where that name came from… (I could not find the history of this alley and/or the name online but I’ll keep on looking.)
Isabellagang
Wie was deze vrouw dat zo’n donker gangetje naar haar werd vernoemd? |
Who was this lady to have such a dark passage named after her? |
If later today the temperature rises even higher, I consider to spend the rest of the day in this alley…ย thanks for your visit and stay cool!
I submit today’s haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share haiku on this Friday event Haiku my Heart.
Wishing you cooler weather and a grand weekend!
A veritable mystery. It does seem like a cool place to be to cool off. Pun intended. ๐
This looks just the coolest place to be Marit, reminds me of *Merchants Arch* in Dublin Ireland.
Stay cool this weekend. Hugs from Tracey (in Extremely Hot England)
here too my friend and for so many of us around the world temperatures are soaring. i too seek out the shade and find earliest mornings and sunset eve to be the most welcoming. thank goodness the monsoon rains have been plentiful here in the mountains of arizona. so lovely to have you back in our haiku circle marit and to dream of walking through the back alleys of your new home town with you!
Rebecca is a back-alley kind of person, but she makes some exciting and memorable discoveries by taking the way that’s out of the way! ๐
What a mystery you present to us in photo and words!
oh Isabella
you’re such a sweet mystery
light and dark mingle
how intriguing is this name and the photo.
