Jetty and Ocean (book title haiku)

February 3, 2017 By Marit 6 Comments

I got the top book from my mum a couple of weeks ago (it’s actually two books, as you can see on the spines, together they make the full title.) I did not read it yet but I couldn’t help but notice that the title consisted of five syllables. So I searched my bookshelves to compose a book title haiku once again…

For Haiku my Heart

31-haikuboeken

Pier en oceaan
opa, hou jij het nog vol
Naar de vuurtoren
Jetty and ocean
Grandpa, can you still hold up
To the lighthouse

I suspect that grandpa is stronger than anyone thinks he is!

Marit, I just love this. Strength of the ocean. Strength of age. Strength of a sentinel. STRENGTH lives here.

i LOVE your book title haiku! thank you for being here sharing your light. to unburden my heart i am sharing my group reply-thank you for witnessing my sorrow.

    dearest,
to be with you is a healing so needed. thank you; my heart is crushed. some moments i can hardly breathe. my heart is with humanity. my heart is in protecting the earth. my heart is in responsible living where we protect the future for those who will inherent from us and our actions. i have always chosen the highest and best good for all-not just a handful of the very rich. my heart is with the disenfranchised- of which i find myself in the cross hairs. lifetime caps is a death sentence for me as my treatments will reflect these caps in far less than a year. without treatment i will not last one year. this is my reality and even as i face eminent danger for my well being my heart never stops beating for us all.
    xo

Thank you, Marit! I love the serendipity of book titles composing themselves into haiku. I’ve started looking at my shelves, wondering what wonders of haiku they might hold.
