MIRYAM!!
(I will send you an email to ask for your postal address Miryam.)
I’ve been a little absent these past weeks: “Hot time, Summer in the City” you know… I enjoyed all kinds of other activities and skipped last week’s ‘Workdesk Wednesday’, knowing I would not be able to visit the other deskers’ blogs. I didn’t spend much time in my atelier also. I won’t bore you with telling you all the places I went and things I did instead, but I will tell you that the I enjoyed this the most:
last week it was the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock festival and there was a ‘Tribute to Woodstock’ festival organised on a little square just around the corner where I live… during three days, all kinds of local bands played covers of the Woodstock songs and MAN, was it fun!!!
We walked up and down between our apartment and the musical area many times… not all the bands were as good, so when one was on stage that we didn’t like much we went home to get a drink or have some food. One could buy drinks and snacks at the festival but we found those were pretty expensive and since our home was only a few steps away, we rather went home to eat to come back an hour later to see the next band play.
I also enjoyed many people (mostly of my age and older… yup) were dressed up like old hippies. A lot of pink sunglasses, tie-dyed t-shirts and scarfs around (sometimes bold) heads… I look back on these three days with a big smile on my face!
Edit: Neet thought it would have been fun to take photos… I didn’t, but you can find a compilation/video of those days HERE The crowd grows towards the third day – the end of the video with more fun and colours.
(And yes, I wore my crocheted skirt and yes, I promised you photos of that and no, I haven’t got a photo taken yet – but I didn’t forget. You will get to see it one day or maybe you can spot me in one of the first takes on this video!)
After the weekend, I went back to my atelier but I cannot show you what I created, yet… I made a present for a ‘lovely person’ and you can see the envelope laying on my desk. My beloved took the envelope with him just now, to put it in the mail. The woman that will receive it might read my blog so I will wait for her to receive it before I show it on my blog. However, my desk shows a few tiny left-overs from ‘the-thing-I-made’ – but you cannot make much of it now.
But I won’t leave you without showing you something creative from my hand… here’s the latest art journal spread I created
The Chronicles of Marit 2019 – Week 31
Enjoy yet another week of sunshine, thanks for stopping by today!
Keep on rockin’ in the free world!
Morning Marit. An exciting week – so glad you enjoyed the festival – and what a blessing to be able to pop home for your food and drinks! Now that desk of yours looks intriguing… I guess we mut just wait and see…
Take care. God bless.

Lol, I think we’re all aging hippies Marit! I’d have been there wearing tie dye and scarves with you as well! I’m glad you had such a fab time…it’s what makes life better, eh?

Love the Chronicle this week. Especially the catchy way you have done the writing.
What a shame you did not take photos of the hippies at the festival – maybe it would have looked rude to go around snapping them but what a fabulous sight it must have been. I loved that era – flower power and all that.
Woodstock sounds great – well tribute to ..
Hugs, Neet 10 xx
I love all the places you get out and about to see . Great Chronicle too . Helen #4
Happy WOYWDW Sounds like you had a lovely week
The festival sounds such fun – I will check out the video later. Would love to see your skirt soon! As ever your Chronicles page is gorgeous. Have a lovely week. With Love & God Bless, Caro x (#8)
What a fun weekend and so convenient to live close by. They can be expensive when you buy food and drinks at these type of venues. Have a great week. Dorlene #23
Sounds like you’ve been very busy – I do want to see you wearing that skirt! Yeah, Woodstock – I always tell people I was born in the year of Woodstock and the first Moon landing – 1969 was a good year! Super page with the criss cross journalling! Thanks for your visit Marit and happy #533! zsuzsa #14
Hi marit i can see why you missed last week and you’re excused due to more fun available elsewhere! Have a lovely week and a very happy woyww, Angela x13x
How lovely to have a festival to celebrate the anniversary of Woodstock! I love the poster. My cousin was busy at the recent Glastonbury Festival, helping her daughter who works there every year. I’ve never been to a festival and it does sound fun! I love your latest journal page – the background is so clever and the effect of the whole thing so dramatic. Brilliant! Thank you for visiting, and I do hope you do make something like my little flour sack towels. I love using them, and it’s so alternative and fun too! My hubby is going to try giving the kitties their worm dose tomorrow in their food. Giving pills to cats is the most awful job in the world, and I can’t think why my hubby didn’t ask the vet to do it herself! We find the kitties behave very much better at the vet’s than they do at home.
Happy WOYWW,

Thanks for the video link – really enjoyed it and brought back memories of the Choir Festival we went to in Amersfoort a couple of years ago. Nothing the same but the atmosphere amongst the crowds brought back happy memories.
Went to the chiropractor and she gave me hope – we will just have to see – won’t happen quickly but who cares – as long as it gets easier.
Hugs & Thanks, Neet xx
Your festival sounded like fun – a great idea to relive Woodstock – well some of it anyway! I like the idea of dressing up to suit the occasion. When I look back to the 60’s/70s I am amazed at the tiny mini skirts I sported!
