Slowly, like white clouds against a blue sky, the days float by my window… warm, languid days that I fill with warm, dreamy thoughts and crocheting (yep, another blanket to put on the guest-bed), reading, going for walks with my beloved and watching ‘Tour de France.’ Every now and then I saunter through the door into my atelier but I don’t have much inspiration. And then I dawdle out again… these are Summer days and it’s allright to take it easy.
It’s been two weeks since I blogged too… for the same reason: no inspiration, too hot to sit at the computer and edit photos and no energy to think in English (after all, not my mother language) to compose a blogpost.
But today I took a break from ‘vacation days’ to say hello to you all and show you some cards I made in the last couple of months. I usually forget to take photos of the cards I make – I think about it when I put them in the mailbox, when it’s too late – but this time I remembered so here’s a couple of cards that I send to friends for their birthdays.
May 21 – for Anna
May 22 – for Marc
June 29 – for Hans
Last but not least:
July 7 – for Nout
This is the card I made for my son Nout who turned 25 last Wednesday. He received the key to his new appartment (in Amsterdam) on his birthday so it’s a double celebration card. The text is in Dutch (of course) and “Oiski Poiski” is a phrase from the animated children’s television series “Noah’s Island” that I used to watch with my son… it has no meaning really but we said ‘Oiski Poiski’ to each other quite often in those days…
I hope you liked this ‘sign of life’ from me today, thanks for your visit!
Enjoy your Summer days, take it easy and I see you again whenever I feel like blogging.
These cards are full of your personality. Love them.
Haha Marit, wat een plezier om je kaarten te bekijken. En öisky poisky, de lol waarmee ze gemaakt zijn spat er af. Doe maar lekker rustig aan… creativiteit gedijt bij lanterfanten! Warme groet en knuffel!
I love your vibrant colourful style so much…and you are not alone about not wanting to blog in the heat! Or even think for that matter!! I love all your work and your sons card is especially fun with the Dutch on it!! I have a pure Dutch son in law who’s one of ten children….so imagine how fun that gets!! We have learned so many Dutch traditions!! We love it!! Happy Birthday to your son!!
Hugs Giggles
