Hi there lovely ones… I’m here to show you another photo of my desk on “What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday.” Julia at Stamping Ground is the hostess of this weekly event.ย ย You can play along, visit all artists listed in her post and see all kinds of art-spaces and desks.
I have somewhat different photo’s to share ’cause yesterday, Sandra (Atelier Galerie Sandra van der Meulen) visited my place and took photos to put on Facebook.
This is what Sandra wrote with the photos on Facebook:
Today I visited the artstudio of Marit Barentsen, an art journaler and mixed media artist. On November 5th, there will be another “Art and Cultural route” in Middelburg and the theme is “Poetry”. In my gallery you will have the opportunity to admire Marit’s “FOUND POETRY”.
“Found Poetry” are poems that arise when one takes existing words, phrases, or passages from other sources and merge (a literary equivalent of a collage.) Also, by adding or removing words in an existing text, a new meaning can be given.
Yes, I worked on small canvasses for this guest-exhibition but that doesn’t mean I deserted my art journals. Here’s two spreads from the journal “Grandes Chaleurs.”

Thanks for visiting, enjoy the rest of the week.
It’s so interesting to see your craftwork from another’s perspective! I do like the layouts and Sandra’s take on things.

It’s great to see you in the photos this week. I love the idea of found poetry but have not used it myself yet. That eye journal page is amazing. Happy WOYWW Sarah #19
Beautiful work – I love the vibrant colours, and how interesting to have an article written about you on FB – that’s great.
Thanks so much for your visit to my desk earlier, I hope you have a great week,

Love your journalling and must say it is great to see someone being featured as you are.
Love all your work but that top right photo with the eye is particularly fab!
Do you go to the big stamp show in Nijerk by any chance – I went lat year and am hoping to do again this time.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
Are you talking about the ‘Art Specially’ event in April? I never visited that fair myself but read & heard other crafters about it. I’ll keep it in mind and will let you know if I plan to visit (it’s quite a trip – by train, we don’t have a car – from where I live though…)
Super cool pages, Marit, and what a coincidence that we both used found poetry this week. This has become my go-to technique if I’m lost for words and I need to fill some space quickly. It’s lovely to see your desk from a different perspective and through Sandra’s eyes! Thanks for visiting earlier – hope you have a good week! zsuzsa #18
Your journaling is amazing! Such color and design! And to work with those small canvases, wow! Thanks for the visit and waving hi from southern Arizona, USA!

Love the “eye” journal page.
Have to add that my periods are/were quite debilitating making me housebound for a few days due to flooding so at least I can go out with the flashes and people understand those better. Mum was lucky to get a hysterectomy at 39yrs so not sure about her menopause. Apparently I’m “normal” so they wouldn’t give me one. At 53yrs now I am hopeful I have rode through this one.
Happy Flashy Scrapping to you too. Thanks for the visit BJ#5
Hi Marit, Lovely to put a face to the name and to see your work.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Happy WOYWW

thanks for visiting already.. yes, it’s an age thing with the flat boots/shoes… used to love boots with high heels, can’t wear them now (won’t throw them out though!!) Gorgeous journalling and how fab for you to be featured like that. Helen #1
Marit, I am not real familiar with the found poetry technique, but I think it has a great place in the artsy world based on your great journal spreads and even those little mini canvases! What an honor to be showcased like that! Have a great rest of the week! ๐ Blessings, Felicia #27
Hi Marit, very interesting art journal pages. Also the perspective of another artist is a nice viewpoint.
Hi Marit, bet you had a great time with your visitor and what a talented lady. I like the idea of the ‘Found Poetry’ and must give it a go. Thanks for the visit to mine, have a great week and a happy woyww, Angela x11x
Hello. Love the idea of the mini canvases – not that I have talent like yours ๐ Had not heard about ‘Found Poetry’ like the sound of it. Sorry I’m so late. I have come down with the lurgy ๐ felt very under the weather Thanks for visiting. Anne x #10
Beautiful art journal pages. I have heard of found poetry but have never tried it. Dorlene #26
