Hi there sweet ‘deskers’… it’s been a really long time since I ‘saw’ you – I MOVED and I’M BACK and I’m sure you are eager to see where I live now and take a peek into my new atelier.
I plan on taking a ‘photo-tour’ in the neighbourhood (the city centre of Middelburg) soon but for now I have photo’s of my new atelier (still not finished yet, you’ll see) and from my desk. Here we go…
Here’s a picture of the ‘desk corner’ – you can see stuff on the left side of the desk/photo (photo albums and such) and in the corner of the window sill (boxes) that has to be stored later (see next photo.) Also, the tools and materials on the desk haven’t found their original spot yet, but it’s workable for now.
And here’s the closet that needs to get anchored to the wall first before I fill it up. It’s standing free in the room and we don’t want it to fall on the guest-bed that we put up behind it. This closet will hold the photo albums and boxes (and more) that’s still on my desk.
Against the wall on the other side of the room is this big closet that holds most of my stuff: creative books, art journals, magazines, stamps and stencils, ink, boxes with tape and paper… I found room for almost everything!
When the atelier is finished and everything’s found its place, I’ll give you a ‘grande tour’ but for now this will do, you get the picture, right?!
Yesterday was the first day that I actually spend some time at my desk to work in my art journal. It had been weeks since I created so I felt a bit rusty… I made simple pages putting my notes from all the former weeks – that we spend packing, cleaning, painting walls, laying floors and moving – on weekly spreads.
So… bit by bit we get settled in our new home. I wrote a bit about it, and posted the first picture of the view from my new balcony, in my former post. If you’re interested to see that, you can find it HERE.
I hope to post on a regular base again from now on and visit (a few of) my fellow deskers in the coming days. Hope you all had good weeks while I was off line, it’s good to be back!

What an amazing space to create in, the thought of having to reorganise everything after moving makes me want to do a little Happy Dance, just think of the possibilities there are and a chance to organise years worth of tools and artwork into an area where it can be found… if only for a moment.
Thank you for sharing WOYWW and paying me a visit, I look forward to seeing many many more.

Hello Marit! Wow what a fantastic new space you have with plenty of space to grow (because you know that is what we crafters do!). I like that you have beautiful natural light from the window to shine on your workspace. Thank you for your visit and I hope you pulled out your colored pencils. I wish you lived close and then we could color together. The weather is fantastic here today and the sunshine always inspires me to create. Have a blessed day and I hope your settling in process continues to go smooth.
hugs,
