Some of you were a bit worried after my Friday post.
That’s so sweet of you (you know who you are) but there was nothing wrong
with me. It just was the end of a very busy week and when I finally had the time
to create, my energy was all gone. I had a beautiful half-finished page waiting
for me, but somehow my mojo was gone.
I ended up doing nothing and felt slightly frustrated … and I went to bed early.
The next day, the guys and I started the weekend with an English breakfast
(waaahhh … sausages, bacon, baked beans … how many calories is that?)
I hoisted me into a skirt instead of my worn home suit – which made me feel
all ‘girly’, and the mojo came flying in. Woohooo!
I kept on going, and it’s too much to show it all today.
I’ll save something for my Friday post, so you won’t find ‘nothing’ again…
Ofcourse I finished my week page!
The Chronicles of Marit – week 6
A little bit of this, a little bit of that…
I experimented with bleach (stamped on the right page) but I didn’t like
the results this particular stamp gave. I do like the technique though,
and I learned a lot during my experiments!
Last Summer, my son gave me this fabulous journal!
I showed the inside pages on my old blog in this post
(you can also read the conversation I had with him back then)
This weekend, I started working on the first page.
It’s quite large – 25 x 35 cm (9.8 x 13.7 inch) which is nice to work on
for a change. Here’s the page I made
It doesn’t really show on the photo, but the black lines and doodles on
the borders are made with liquid pearl pen.
It’s all shiny and dimensional, and I love the effect!
Oh, and I’m in love with my water soluble oil pastels!!!
The pages in this new journal have a little bit of structure,
and the effect when I used the pastels on the page is amazing!
My beloved gave me this large box from Caran d’Ache,
and I find myself wanting to use them all the time!
Thanks so much love!
This week, I still will be busy writing articles and there will again be little time left to create (but I got my Friday post covered 😉 ) After that, it will be done for a month and I have lots of plans to fill March with! More about that later – Ha, I thought it would be nice to leave you a little curious…
Enjoy your week beautiful ones!
(I love that expression! Kim Mailhot uses it referring to her blogreaders.
Her blog is worth following by the way!)

Lieve groetjes – Irma

is that all it takes to get your mojo back?! a flowing skirt!!! I’m on it!!! or in it??? hee!
oh btw, for my current STM piece…I used your “patchwork” border. I stamped and water colored the pieces and cut them out to make the frame. the layout will be on the blog tomorrow! thanks for the inspiration!!!

So glad your mojo came flying back!!! Love these pages – the concept of trying to leash butterflies is fascinating – just perfect for the journaling. I have to admit that baked beans for breakfast sounds very strange to me! It is so cool and special that you are using items (journal and oil pastels) that your loved ones gave you – everything you create is filled with their love! Have a wonderful week!

Oh my, We’re going to London soon, I’m already looking forward to the ‘Full English Breakfast’! (without the beans, that is, but I’m all for sausages, tinned tomatoes and scrumbled egg on toast!) No need for any other meals after such a start of the day 😉
good luck working on the articles! I think I have a dress somewhere in the back of my closet, and I was wandering trough V&D this afternoon thinking that I should sew myself a skirt.

Yummy English breakfast!! Sometimes we eat that at midday and it’s our main meal of the day! Cool…
I really love your spread and the bleach stamping. You too, are a technique junkie, I suspect!! Ain’t life grand?!!
What a super journal that is – I shall go read that story in a mo’… and I am envious of your Neos – I only have the tin of 10 (plus 2 that I bought seperately!) and I love them too! The liquid paint is glorious – I thought it was stitching at first! Let go more often Marit!!
PS – Sometimes I do blog a lot!! Teehee!! xx

I knew you were fine! But, I emailed with you 20 times too!! Sorry!
I’m glad the skirt worked! I may have to try that! Unfortunately, I have my mojo, but only 1/10 of my supplies and no time!!
Your pages are fabulous! You are so awesome at collage! I’ve stamped with bleach before, and it is a cool technique.
I have been TRYING to get some watercolor crayons, but since I get out so seldom, I don’t have a clue as to when I can get some. But the oil crayons sound awesome too! When I do get out, I will have to spend a lot of time in that section of the store!!!
Don’t work too hard this week!!
