It’s Tuesday afternoon when I write this post (I schedule it to come online on Wednesday) because I won’t be around tomorrow. Well.. I will probably be in my atelier (and that’s ‘around the computer’) but I won’t be alone… my art-colleague-friend Mandy van Goeije will come to visit! We met each other ‘live’ for the first time in May when she visited me and we ‘recognized each other’ immediately… it was like having an old friend over! I visited her back last Summer (she lives in a city nearby) and again we had lots and lots to talk about, to show each other and to giggle. I’m sure it will be no different tomorrow and I’m looking forward to it!
Anyway, that’s why I took a photo of my desk this morning.
After I took the photo, I finished the little collage I was working on. It’s a piece of art for my new project “Notes from the land of the screaming seagulls”. It is a sequel to the series “Letters from the Wasteland” – a series of little collage-pieces I created in 2012.
I created two pieces so far – the size is 10 x 15 cm (3.9 x 5.9 inch)
I glued the former “letters” into a journal but I think I will keep these pieces in a box.. maybe mount them? Oh well, I can decide later on that, can’t I?
So for now, this is it.

Thanks for visiting me today, I will try and visit your desk later this week.
Have a great day.
Invite a friend.
Create art.
Giggle!

They’re too good to put in a box, you should frame them and put them on the wall! Isn’t it wonderful meeting online friends in reality – no awkward silences because you know each other already 😀

Hi Marit! You might remember that I am in an online art group that is working on the Seth Apter book that you are in. A few people have been inspired by you! Glad to hear that you have a friend coming over, nothing more fun than an afternoon of giggles! Your Screaming Seagulls book is coming along wonderfully! Have a great week, and thanks for sharing! Your journal pages are great and so is the title. They scream all the time. Never quite felt the same since they dive bombed me trying to grab fried battered fish from a food container. I fled, shade of Hitchcock dram much too real.
Have a super fun giggly day with your friend. There is nothing like it.

Happy WOYWW. I always love to see your tidy desk with everything so neatly annotated. I sometimes think of trying that, but I am too lazy! Your mixed media pieces are wonderful. Ali x #26

Land of the screaming seagulls I had to laugh because that is what is like here sometimes with the noise they make. When I can’t find something I blame Fred the seagull, who is this naughty seagull that pinches things all fictitious but great story when my grandson was small. Anickoana

Van je werk ben ik erg gecharmeerd, zoals je weet.
En nog extra van de poëtische titel: die is al een gedicht op zichzelf. Super !
