Scents & Chronicles

April 9, 2021 By Marit 9 Comments

Goodmorning dear ones, here’s another Friday and another haiku for you.

Friday haiku

Geuren in de lucht.
Zoute zee. Helmgras ruikt naar
helmgras, zand naar niets.
There’s scents in the air.
Salty water. Marram grass.
Sand smells like nothing.

Can you tell I am trying to quit smoking?
I haven’t smoked a sigarette for three days now and the world is full of smells!
The photo is taken by Lena Schreijenberg
and I submit this haiku to Haiku my Heart

Days keep flying by and I haven’t had much time to create art journal pages lately… but here’s two of my latest spreads

The Chronicles of Marit 2021 – Week 10

The Chronicles of Marit 2021 – Week 11

In week 11, general elections were held in the Netherlandsย  – the picture of this lady, who won a lot of votes and danced on the tabel, was in all the newspapers. Instead of using the photo, I created a drawing of her. The photo is of my son, who volunteered in the polling stations. That was only three weeks ago but a lot has happened in politics since then… I don’t know if I will mention it all in my journal – we’ll see. However, I do hope to find some time to create this weekend. Oh, and go for daily walks – that’s highly recommended by doctors and neuroscientists here in the Netherlands to keep a healthy body and mind and I can do with a little exercise ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks for your visit,
enjoy your day/weekend,
go do something fun,
go for a walk and smell the roses
(or whatever’s in the air…)

Je t’embrasse

Thank you for taking me into your Zeeland and memories of the beauty you walk and breathe in… how I long to visit you again! How fortunate we are to have this connection here, still. Sending good thoughts your way and many thanks for sharing your journal pages and a bit of what is going on in your world. A big hug to you my friend!

    Nice!
I quit smoking in 2006. I was never addicted to nicotine. The hardest part was not lighting up while I was driving, as it was a way of alleviating the boredom.
