Still counting…

September 30, 2011 By Marit 25 Comments

The clock on my side menu is still counting down the hours, minutes,
seconds…

…to what?
Yes, my birthday. I told you that in my last post.
Also to something ‘big’, I told you that too, but I ain’t going to
spoil the fun now by telling you more then that.
Not yet my friends, not yet.

Let me tell you this though: the news will not only be exciting for all crafters –
it will also be interesting to photographers & haiku writers out there!

Is that a hint?
Hardly, but I won’t give you more.
Just wait and see on Sunday!

There’s no sense in breaking your head over it now any further,
so let me divert your mind of ‘the secret’ and show you what I got today.

(Remember: you can click on each image to enlarge)

..

For Haiku my heart:

Shadows

blad speelt tikkertje

met het zonlicht op de muur

buiten waait de wind

leaves are playing tag

with the sunlight on my wall

outside, the wind blows

Haiku My Heart is a wonderful place where people from all over the world
post beautiful photos and and write amazing Haiku. It is hosted by Rebecca
and you can find the list of participants on her blog recuerda mi corazon.

Today one of my best friends celebrates her birthday! (Happy birthday ‘sis’.)
I made her this little book.

Blij boekje (happy little book)

I love to take photos of all sides!

Here you can see how the spine inside folds like a harmonica.

This is what the spine looks like when it’s closed.

After the stick has been removed, the spine reveals its ‘secret’…

… an (old) photo of me and my friend. (I couldn’t find a nice, more recent one.
We should meet and take new photos soon Lenny!)

With this post the weekend starts!
For me it will be a very happy and exciting weekend!
Sunshine, a birthday, presents and ‘the big announcement’…

I hope to see you here to celebrate with me on Sunday!

Tjemig, dat is een heel bijzonder boekje! Megamooi gedaan!

    Fijn weekend, groetjes Viv

    Hello Marit my dear,
I love your leaf shadows. I think it is a wonderful haiku that you have made of it. I like looking at the photo of your little kitchen too because it reminds me that we are in different countries. Your kitchen looks Scandinavian to me. I love the book that you made for your friend. So much love put into it, even the sweet picture in the spine held together by a wooden stick is such a nice surprise. I think that gifts like that hold such a special place in someone’s heart. How thoughtful of you!
Happy weekend my dear. See you Sunday.
    xo,
    Noelle

    Hi Marit,
I just realized that I said your kitchen looked Scandinavian and of course that is not possible since you live in the Netherlands. So sorry for the gaff there. But it definitely looks different than our kitchens here.
    🙂
