Morning to the ‘week after’ lovely ones… it’s number 251 of WOYWW and boy did we have an anniversary celebration last week! The link list on the 10th anniversary date was loooongg… it seemed like everyone who ever joined Julia’s weekly event came over to join the party. I’d planned to visit each and every participant and I managed to do that last week.

And now it’s on to the next decade of ‘desk hop’… here’s how mine looked yesterday afternoon

WOYWW #251

It’s a sunny day after a day filled with rain, so I won’t be spending a lot of time at my desk today. The art journal spread can wait ’cause I can’t wait to enjoy the sun. I got a nice book from the library that I just started reading and I think I will put the chair on the balcony and spend the afternoon there with Karl Ove Knausgård

Before I go, a few things:

Urban ‘sketch’
Another card, send to a friend for his birthday last week, inspired by Karen Stamper.

This ‘urban sketch’ was done in my atelier and pictures a non-excisting city, drawn from fantasy. According to the ‘rules’ I should not call this ‘urban sketching’… but I will go for ‘the real thing’ and sketch outside in public this weekend. I have an appointment with my old neighbour Frederika who paints and sketches outside a lot. I will meet up with her and join a group of ‘urban sketchers’ that will go into town on Saturday. I already bound me a small sketch book to bring with me and googled for info… this alinea sums up how I feel about it.

“Problem is, getting started can seem a little scary. (…) Feeling shy? You’re not alone — lots of would-be urban sketchers are worried about being that person, drawing in public. You’ll get over that as soon as the joy of creating takes over. But for starters, bring a friend. It helps!” (A Beginner’s Guide to Urban Sketching)

I’ll let you know how it goes.

The Chronicles of Marit 2019 – Week 19

Crocheted hippie skirt
Some of you asked me about the skirt I started crocheting in April (see this blogpost.) I finished it a while ago already and sewed a lining in it too. My friend Lena agreed to take some photos of me wearing it – we’ll have a ‘girls’ day out’ and do a photoshoot… so be patient, photo’s WILL be there someday.

And that’s it for today sweeties. Enjoy the day, enjoy the sunshine (if there is any) and keep on rockin’ in the free world!
