My friend Lena and I went to a workshop SoulCollage yesterday evening at In Beeld (in Middelburg) and I’m still a bit impressed what the evening brought me… On my wish-list (‘themes’ and ideas I want to work with in the near future) that hangs on my window sill I noted “do something with archetypes and/or goddesses” and as you know, I started “intuitive art journaling/painting” in the last weeks. This workshop ‘touched’ all that, maybe even combined some of these things… my mind needs time to process the experience, but I will definitely dive deeper into SoulCollage to see what it brings me. You loosened something Leonie!
Last Summer, in my blog vacation, I created some more art journal pages for The Documented Life Project. I still not caught up, not at all, but here are two more pages with the prompts.
May Theme: Touchy Feely (Texture)
Art Challenge: Textured Paper
Journal Prompt: I’m So Not Feeling It!
May Theme: Travel Journaling
Art Challenge: Illustrative Art Journaling
Journal Prompt: Take Me Away
I don’t like the first page (‘Textured Paper’) much, but I’m satisfied about the sketch on the second art journal page. I’ve been to Calcutta (India) in the eighties and I think I pretty much captured the chaos and the hustle and bustle on the street in my drawing. Looking at it, I can almost hear the noise and smell the strange odor that hangs in the city ( a strong smell of sewage mixed with the sweet perfume of jasmine and the scent of spicy foods.)
I’m not much of a drawer and I know I should practice more… this sketch is definitely a starter!
I hope you all have a lovely, sunny weekend.
Do something creative.
Howl at the full moon.
Make a sketch.
