Goodmorning lovelies, I’m here on a Wednesday to show you my workdesk (and what’s on it!) and some of my art pieces. I took this week off of work and am enjoying my free time. What do I do with that extra time off, you might think… that’s not a hard question: play in my atelier of course (and go out with an old friend, visit my pa & ma, watch cycling races and crime dvd’s with my beloved, go to the hairdresser *purple hair, purple hai-air*, take a little walk into town – you know, the things you do when you have time and are feeling fine!)
One of my colleagues will certainly benefit from the extra time I have because I made her a beautiful card: it’s her birthday this week and she moved into a new home last month. I took the photo of my desk yesterday when I was in the middle of creating that card.

… and here’s the end result.
And of course I still keep my weekly Chronicles art journaling going. I started in 2010 with creating a weekly spread so this is the fourteenth (!) journal I’m filling… btw: all my journals can be viewed on my website – and here’s the latest spreads
Chronicles: Week 12
Chronicles: Week 13
That lady standing on one leg might need some explanation because she’s not just there to look beautiful: some time ago, after a walk on the beach and over the dunes, I forced my hip. After weeks of struggling with pain in my groin and knee, I went to the doctor and he send me to the physiotherapist. The physiotherapist gave me tips and exercises and he said that the problem should be resolved within a few weeks. One of those exercises is, that I have to alternately balance on one leg. I’m now wobbling on one leg a few times a day – and no, I don’t look as elegant as that woman on my spread. I’m more like an old stork (or maybe even less elegant than a stork) but hey, it works because the pain is almost gone!
Sketchbook revival 2023
Mid-March I signed up for the free Sketchbook Revival workshop… but I already knew I wouldn’t have time to watch all the free video-tutorials and/or work with all the lessons (the workshop closes on April 20th) so I picked out my preferences to watch and even created some pages. Last week, I watched a video with Toni Burt which tutorial I liked very much. When the weather gets better I’d like to go outside and draw more, so this was a start to work with the techniques she showed (I used a photo of our apartment complex as a reference.) It’s a bit overdone but I still like the outcome.
It’s been two months since I joined WOYWW, I hope you liked seeing me and my workdesk again and I plan on visiting ‘the workdesk gang’ in the following days. Enjoy your day and ‘see ya!’

Ohj I love that watercolour. It looks perfect to me and I would be so proud of it that I would frame it and hang it somewhere in my home.
Great card for your friend, it is ages since I did any collage like that with magazines but I so enjoy it when I do. I am sure your friend will love that card, I would.

OMG! Where you say “overdone” I say PERFECTION. Love it very much! And also smiling cause The Hubster and I watch Crime Dramas too! If you have Apple TV, check out Slow Horses. It’s fab (well, we thought it was.) That lady looks limber – hope the physio helps. Been there, done that and it tends to be all about your commitment to it – or so the physios always tell me 😀 Nice to see you here!
Happy WOYWW

Hi Marit, I’d definitely frame that watercolour- it’s beautiful. The card is great and I love that cool giraffe. Your journal pages are lovely as well.
Thanks for your visit earlier. Yes I’ve written a mystery novel, set in the best food street in Paris, with a heroine who’s a silversmith. It should come out in May and I’ve asked people to send me their email address if they want me to let them know. (To Lmcollis@icloud.com).
Take care and happy WOYWW

Overdone??! I think that last sketch is wonderful and perfect as it is! I love all your artwork and the lady standing on one leg made me laugh so much clause I am trying to improve my balance and I’m wobbling around like an old stork too! I think we need to see a pic of purple hair though…

Fabulous watercolour, I saw that tutorial too. I do the same exercise to improve my bone density. Getting better at it, but still quite wobbly. Happy WOYWW. Angela #15

Hi Marit, thanks for the visit to mine. Sorry to disappoint you but the stamp is by Carabelle Studio someone called Edurige Verriere. It stamps really well too. Loving your new Art journal pages. You are so good at choosing the collage pieces. Great watercolour too. Wishing you a very happy belated woyww, Angela x7x

Hi Marit always so lovely to see you and your artwork. Glad to hear you have had a good break with lots of fun and creative activities. Love the card and your pages (I’m trying to do exercises for my hip too and I often look like a very wobbly stork) but that drawing in the Toni Burt style really caught my eye. I hope you are right about a smaller space boosting my creativity, I haven’t felt very productive in this bigger room for quite a while. Have a wonderful week, hope to see you soon, love n hugs Cindy xx #9

It’s marvellous to see you Marit, your time off has been busy and I’m infected by your enthusiasm! Great card for your colleague, I do love how you make up the border, such little bits of scraps that look wonderful with your creative touch. Love the watercolour of your apartment block too…I’m not clever enough to see why it’s overdone, just great to me! Love seeing you and your son’s exchange challenge on Facebook too, your creative life is very inspiring! And oooh..purple hair!

How nice to hear from you Marit! Love the birthday collage! And your journal pages as always. I used to journal they way you do, I have a few books filled up like that, but needed a change. But I still enjoy seeing yours, and then wonder why I’m not still doing that! So much fun! Your watercolour is lovely as well, doesn’t look overworked to me! I have such a hard time balancing, and to think I used to be able to do the stork! Have a great week, Lindart #20
