Work in progress (woyww #636)

August 11, 2021 By Marit 17 Comments

Goodmorning lovelies,  it’s about time I show my face

I also have a lot of art journal spreads to show you, so I got behind the computer to type this blogpost and join the WOYWW’s tribe today. How are you all doing? How’s life in your part of the world? I’m doing pretty well overhere. There are still Corona-rules in the Netherlands but it’s a little bit more relaxed – and I’m a stay-at-home kinda woman anyway so it doesn’t affect me much. I can still do my job in the big restoration atelier at Zeeuws Archief – which I love – and I mostly like to spend the rest of the week (I work only 3 days a week) in my own little atelier. Here’s a photo of what’s on my desk today

WOYWW #636

I hope to finish this spread on Thursday but I might go outside instead, since the weather forecast finally predicts sunny days after days of rain and wind. The spread on my desk is week 30 in my Chronicles art journal, so I’m pretty much up to date with my pages. I haven’t published the former spreads though, so here they are… spreads from June and July.

Week 25

Week 26

Week 27

Week 28

Week 29

Today (Wednesday) is a workday but when I get home my ‘weekend’ starts and I hope to be able to visit some other desks later this week to see how y’all are doing. In the meantime, enjoy your day!

It’s so good to see you back on the desks Marit! I’m glad you’re doing ok. Your journal pages are always interesting to look at, so much detail to be seen. Hope you enjoy your walk, it os grey here in Wales today after a few weeks of lovely weather, so I don’t think I’ll be going out much!

Happy WOYWW. Wonderful to see your face and your organised crafty table. Week 25 in your journal seems like a long time ago now. The Tour de France this year was quite stressful to watch – all the crashes really upset me. We have got the Tour of Britain soon – beginning of September – and 2 of the stages are within relatively easy travelling distance from our farm. I am planning to go and watch (as we did a few years ago, and met Chris Froome), but not sure yet as we are away the weekend before, and not sure how to fit it all into our calendars! Life is slowly getting more free in the UK too – but still wearing masks indoors, keeping a social distance where possible and using hand sanitiser. I got to hug my mum after nearly 2 years! Hi Marit, I love your journal pages. That green in the one on your desk is a yummy colour.
Yes, it’s been horribly rainy here too. I don’t suppose Folkestone is so far from you as the crow flies, maybe 200km?
    Take care and happy WOYWW

Great journal spreads. I am a stay at home person too, so I haven’t felt restricted by the virus either, but I am lucky in that I have a garden to sit in. 4 feel sorry for those that don’t. Have a great week Angela #9

Hi Marit, great to see you again. I’m with you as we’ve hardly been anywhere and felt quite strange when we had to go into the bank last week. Loving your journal pages as ever, you are so good at these. Wishing you a happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x14x

It’s lovely to have you back with us and what a lovely selection of your chronicles you have given to us today. Your writing and drawings have been sorely missed on the weeks you have been away. I hope there is not too big a wait for your regular weekly return.
    Hugs, Neet 10 xx

Wow, you’ve been busy, Marit! Fantastic art, very expressive. I didn’t mind the restrictions either, and never understood what all the fuss was about with the anti-lockdown protests. I guess some people just don’t like being told what to do. Now everything is “back to normal” here. It’s a bit of an experiment – we’ll see how it goes. Have fun in your atelier. xx zsuzsa #19

Lovely to see you Marit! Happy to hear that you’re well and generally able to stay away from Covid danger spots. I’m trying to do the same as you, if the forecast is reasonable, I need to be outside, there has been so much bad weather that you just have to make the most of the good. Keep forgetting to say that I’m loving your art collaboration with your son, it’s incredible.

Welcome back, Marit – so nice to see you again and see your gorgeous layouts once more – so stylish and unusual. I hope you are well. Good news on my cancer front – my Oncotype score was below 25 which means that chemo is not recommended, which is a huge relief for me. However, radiotherapy and hormone therapy sound pretty awful, but I’ve just got to grit my teeth and get on with it! I’ve done really well since the operation and everything has healed up nicely.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

Thank you for your return visit, Marit – I meant to say before how nice to see a photo of you at the top of your post! Thank you for thinking of me and for your good wishes for my ongoing treatment. It is certainly a relief not to be having chemo but the rest sounds pretty horrible I’m afraid! I agree with you that good and efficient storage makes for wellbeing! I think I am going to be using my stamps and dies a lot more once they are properly organised and categorised. Up till now it’s just been frustrating, and half the time I haven’t remembered what I’d got. I’ve had quite a week of it one way and another because my hubby was ill but he’s home now. More news next week.

      Happy belated WOYWW,

Oh lovely! I always look forward to your journal pages. So inspiring and fun. I miss you when you are gone! Love the drawing. I wish I was brave enough to share mine. They are truly awful, mostly, and I keep waiting to get better but I think it will need a LOT more practice than I am willing to put in. Ah well….

    Happy so very late WOYWW.
