With this year two weeks old, I am really getting back in the ‘creating flow’, which is a nice feeling. How are you doing so far? Well on your way or still seeking energy and/or inspiration?
For the DUTCHIES ONLY:
As said, I have no lack of inspiration and that you can tell from seeing my desk surface… on the desk is the early start for Week 2 in my Chronicles art journal.
WOYWW #502
(What’s On Your Workdesk, Wednesday, pop over to head desker/hostess Julia of the Stamping Ground to find this week’s desk-hop-list)
This new Chronicles journal I bound is really big (42 x 29,7 cm ~ 11,7 x 16,5 inches) and although I usually have difficulties creating on a large page, I really like the size this time.
The Chronicles of Marit 2019 – Week 1
I was inspired by my fellow artist-teacher Sarah Trumpp in Book of Days 2019 and I painted a face using her lesson (sort of…) in my weekly spread.
Last but not least: here’s the book (14,8 x 21 cm ~ 5,8 x 8,3 inches) I made my mum for her birthday last month. I forgot to take photos before I gave it to her, but I brought my camera with me when I visited my parents last weekend so that I can show it to you guys.
I still have some Japanese fabric patches that I ordered last year laying around and use every little piece… the Japanes designs are gorgeous! Of course I added some Sashiko stitching and bound the book with little beads incorporated in the binding.
And that’s it for today sweeties… I will go back to that spread on my desk that’s waiting to be finished now. Thanks for your visit, have a wonderful, colourful day. Splash some paint around!
Oh my, that book is amazing – I love everything about it, the fabrics, stitching and beads. You are a really clever and inspiring artist Marit!

Well Marit, that is a big journal..I love the size! and the colours of today’s page surrounded by colourful stamps are very cheery for a grey dull day. I bet your sweet Mama was thrilled with your gift, I love the beads on the binding, they really match that sashiko style.
Gorgeous book cover and loving the journal pages too. I can’t understand the Duchies stuff but I am surrounded this week by the Dutch and I’m sure they will tell me what it says if i can catch them between skiing. Have a lovely creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x10x
