It is again Wednesday and again a beautiful Autumn morning (almost like Summer even, as it is going to be 25 degrees Celcius – (77 Fahrenheit.)
I will take advantage of it by going for a bike ride to the seashore and take a long walk over the dunes and along the beach. But before I step on my bike, I have some photos to show you. To begin with my workdesk and how it looks this morning.
(“why a picture of your desk” you may ask? That’s because of Julia from Stamping Ground and her ‘What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday” series. Click the link to find out all about woyww and join the fun!)
My atelier is at the front of the appartment – on the North-West side which means the light is ideal to work by – but there’s something interesting happening on the back of the appartment too these days (the sunny, South-East balcony-side) which I want to show you.
(Click on the photos to enlarge for a better view)
Some time ago, a turtle dove decided to build her nest at the small plateau behind the drainpipe that runs down between the balcony and our bedroom window. Mama dove spend weeks breeding on two eggs and when the little doves came out, we had a nice view on mum and her babies. The little ones grew fast and one of them ventured it this week to fly to the tree on the other side. But little brother isn’t that bold…
So there it sits… building courage…
Mum took position in the tree on the other side, luring him by making all kinds of sounds and trying to persuade her baby to take the leap, but he does not dare… yet.
It won’t take long though, because little dove is flapping its wings already… does it feel the wind beneath?
I suspect he’ll take the plunge today!
When you’ve looked closely to the desk photo, you saw my finished art journals lined up on the window sill (they will be stored on shelves eventually…) and I added yet another one to the line of finished journals. I created the last page in my ‘miscellaneous’ art journal. Here’s how the last page looks… (on the right you see part of the inside of the back cover, where a big image was glued when I bound this journal)
… and now it’s time to get on my bike, flap my wings and take off to the beach… hope your day is a good one too. Take a leap and go do something nice today!
Beautiful photos and love your workspace – love the way you label everything. Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a great day and a lovely crafting week to come. Hazel, WOYWW #47 x
Loving the dove photos!! Hope baby takes flight soon!! And loving your page! i loveeeeee that quote!!!!!
groetjes

That is a great idea to add labels, it explains everything so well! The little dove is so cute. I love that quote and the blackboard look you gave it.
Happy WOYWW. Nice to meet you.

Oh Marit I envy you for living near the beach!!!
It was beautiful today, so I went to the garden, which is next to the woods – well, nice also.
You made some nice shots of the dove, I never saw this kind before. Very nice quote on the art journal page! Thanks for sharing!
Cheers

Damn Marit your workspace set up is to die for, so inspired by your workdesk photo it’s just so beautiful…
Sounds like you have lovely weather over their, ours is becoming to warm up so our pool is starting to see some action lol…
Have a fab weekend my friend…..
Despite the amount of things on your desk, it’s very tidy and full of purpose! I like the paper bowl ready and waiting…. How was the art route? I bet lots of people were fascinated by your arts.
Hi Marit….your desk is far too organised. You must’ve cleaned it for the photo…lol.
No Jo… I really didn’t – I’m just a neat worker 🙂
That is one tidy desk! I like all of the sunlight you get into the room.
The little guy is super cute!
Thanks for sharing! Have a good week. Hugs, Kathy Jo #41
