I woke up to a grey sky this morning and right now (11 am) it still is a bit dark outside – I expect the rain to come down any minute now. In order to show you what is on my desk today, I had to use the flashlight with my camera. There are several projects on my desk today – as you can see “The Documented Life Project” is still on the desk too. I finished all prompts up till now and I show you the page I made with the 24 January prompt in this post (the pages made with the former prompts can be seen in this post.)
So, without further ado, here’s my workdesk (and I won’t say anything about ‘organised’ and ‘messy’ anymore ๐ )
(What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday or WOYWW is a weekly blogseries/hop hosted by Julia in the United Kingdom. A whole bunch of crafty people share photos of their desks every Wednesday – the list can be found on Julia’s blog.)
And here’s a better photo of the art journal page I made with last week’s prompt for The Documented Life Project
January 24
January Theme: The Blank Page and How to Face It!
Art Challenge: Writing
Journal Prompt: Words with Friends
The background is a gelatin-monoprint (I had myself a ‘mono printing-session’ a while ago so that I have a large stack of backgrounds waiting to be used.) I cut out three silhouettes from random magazine pages, glued them on to the background and outlined them with a marker. I used watersoluble crayons to create shadow. I darkened the edges of the paper also as the page looked a bit pale. (I rubbed the crayon with a wet finger to blend.) For the ‘writing’ part of the prompt I wrote my thoughts about friendship around the circles that were in the background.
Thanks for visiting today.
Oh, and if you are curious to read the review of the Art Journaling book that is on my desk: I post it next Friday. See you then.
Busy, busy!! I love how you label your photos – so awesome! ๐ Have a blessed week.
Happy Crafting!

I was going to ask if that writing around the circles was a stamp! Wow it looks absolutely fab. Love the approach you took to the whole blank page thing..and the silhouettes, great idea!
Fabulous DLP page I’ve not tackled mine yet I’m still playing catch up as I was late joining. Thank you for sharing. Happy WOYWW Anita #42
Your page is gorgeous! LOVING the women and the circles!!!!
This is such an awesome page, Marit! Your scribbly writing is wonderful! A bit like Dina Wakley’s, which I try to copy, but I just can’t. I think you need a lot of confidence to do that, which I lack. I’m hoping I can get there with a lot of practice! You’ve nailed it! Cutting out the silhouettes from magazine pages is a great idea too! Love everything about you page! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #41
Love the DLP page! VERY VERY COOL. I am caught up with DLP as well but I bit behind in some of the other groups I joined lol. My page for that prompt is one post back I think on my blog if you are interested..it is about texting. Shel #55
I love your annotated photos of what’s what on your desk. It seems like a lot there but you still have open space and room to play so it is all good. I’m loving the journal page. Pretty colors and neat design. Judy #64
Your DLP page is GORGEOUS ! Love th design and the colours too – was away last weekend so didn’t get to complete my page but did make myself a silhoutte ! Ali #21
As always simply gorgeous what you are making!

LOL!
Great Desk and wonderful art journalling you are doing!

Interesting desk, as usual, with lots going on. All nicely labelled. I love how you do that!
Your DLP page is awesome. I love the background, and the silhouettes. And the journaling is great. I can’t read it (I’m probably not meant to) but it looks great.
Sorry that i haven’t been able to do much visiting. We’ve had terrible storms for days and consequently power and internet were down for a few days. We’re up and running again and I’m trying to catch up.
Have a good week,
