Today – What’s On Your Work desk? Wednesday –ย I show you two photos of my work desk. My desks are positioned in an U-shape… I work at the table that is right in front of the window (with light from the North-West it is the ideal space for making art!) With one chair-turn to the right, I sit at the computer. The desk to the right also holds my drawing tablet – I work at the computer with a pen – a scanner and a small, plastic archive drawer. It is a rather dull corner to show so I never photograph it. The table to the right, however, is the most interesting. I use that desk to lay stuff out of my hands, but it also holds projects that are not finished (or ongoing,) and pages that I’m not sure off and that I want to take a fresh look at in the morning.
WOYWW #299 – Desk to the left
Today there is a page I made for ‘The Documented Life Project’ on my desk. I made it for last week’s challenge (‘Repeating Elements’) I’m not sure if it needs text on the open (black) space or if I should leave it this way.
Here’s the desk in front of the window. I’m working on a weekly spread in the Chronicles art journal.
That photo book to the left is such a find! I visited the second hand store to buy music sheet paper and was already on my way to the checkout counter when I saw this book lying on a table… I took a quick look at the pages and added it to my stack right away. It’s full of beautiful photos from (cloudy) skies and it was a bargain (one – yes 1 – Euro!) I cut out one photo already to use on my weekly spread (see desk photo.)
What’s On Your Work desk? Wednesday is hosted by Julia from the UK. Artists from all over the world post a photo of their desk on their blog and leave a link at Julia’s blog. This week’s list with WOYWW-participants is published HERE More info about this event (’cause everyone is invited to join) can be found HERE.
Next is a picture of last week’s art journal spread (I create a spread in my Chronicles journal after the week is over, so I created this last week for the week before… that’s my routine.)
The Chronicles of Marit 2015 – Week 7ย
Thanks for visiting my blog today.
I’m off to have coffee & lunch now but I hope to be back in an hour to visit a bunch of desks this afternoon. See ya!
You really do have a beautiful space, Marit. The lighting is awesome and everything is neat and tidy. I love visiting your desk. ๐ Beautiful work going on there too. It really is exciting to find a treasure to use in our creations, and when that treasure is a bargain too the whole world is a brighter place!
Happy WOYWW.
I have my DLP page for repeating patterns on my post today ๐ I wish I could see your’s closer. Your chronicles of Marit page is awesome..you ARE a star ๐ You have my very favorite neocolor II crayons..don;t you just love those? Your space is really nice and I enby the light from the windows. Shel-PaperOcotilloStudio @51
What an organized desk. I keep telling me I need to do that but never do. I have not heard of the Chronicles, sort of sounds very medieval and expect to see knight and ladies toodling around the pages!

Your work space is set up perfectly, Marit! So much flat surface to play on in such a bright spot! The Chronicles page is brilliant – I still love and envy your lettering style! Hope to take a closer look at your DLP spread next time! Thanks for your visit earlier! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #15
Very smart how you do your weekly spreads in the art journal – makes it not so overwhelming, but still beautiful. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #48
I always enjoy visiting your desk and seeing what you got going on. That Skies of Normandy book was indeed a find–how fun it will be to play with that. Judy #67
I love your chronicles. The collaged Border is a very interesting detail. I really love that diary type journal, but I could never be so disciplined to go through with that. I also like the graphical look. You are very talented (I might have said that before)!
Thank you for your earlier visit.
Hugs from Germany

LOVE all your labels in the pictures. You have a great creative space and all the necessary stash to play with.
Thanks for the earlier visit and the comment………LOL the electrical cord dangling down is the power to my docking station. I really didn’t notice it until I read your comment.
Your chronicle journal pages are so fantastic. I keep telling myself I am going to start something like this, but all I seem to do is make lists………………..maybe that is what I need to make a journal of…..LOL
Have a great week.

Love your space! I’m working on my first altered book (the one you saw on my floor) and I’m thinking I won’t be needing more empty art journals, this book stuff is quite fun, though prepping the book has been slow ๐
Hugs, Kristiina

What an impressive space Marit. And I’m blown away with those labels. The organised part of me is saying “See..that’s what organised is.”, the other part is saying” Naw, you’ll never ever get to be this neat and tidy.”
Thanks for your visit.
