An Art Fair on Saturday, a visit to the dental hygienist on Monday, a day spend with friends in my ‘old town’ Eindhoven yesterday, a visit to the dentist this morning… my days were full and my desk stayed untouched most of the time with one exception: the turquoise plastic coated paper underneath the glasses of water. My dental hygienist puts these papers on my chest to protect my clothes against splashing water when she cleans my teeth with all kinds of water tubes and powder-blasters. When I made a comment that I could use papers like that, with a plastic coating at the back, she gave me a whole stack… these papers protect my work surface against my paint-water now. Don’t I have the sweetest dental hygienist? Thank you Mirjam.

Last Saturday, I went to an Art Fair with my friend Lena. There was not much public but Lena and I had a lot of fun together! Here’s a photo of our booths.
The online art journal workshop Mixed Emotions, which I teach together with Michelle Rydell, is in its third week (registration closes on Friday, September 20 so if you want to join you better hurry.)
In Monday’s lesson Michelle showed the ‘resist technique’ and because it had been years since I used this technique I created a new art journal page with it.
Lost in Europe
Before I ‘sign off’ I want to end this blogpost with virtually sending healing vibes and good wishes to Edwin Bouwens, a friend of mine who had a stroke last week and is in hospital. Hang in there my friend, and get well soon!

That alone was worth going to the dentist for, Marit! Love the Lost in Europe page – somehow reminds me of the refugees – not sure if you had them in mind while creating it. Have a great week! zsuzsa #38

Yes Zsuzsa, I had a ‘family group’ in mind when I made this, but once I saw the result it reminded me of the refugees too so I worked with that.

Art Fair attendance seem to be low all over. It always surprises me. your resit page is very interesting. I shall try to enlarge on my PC. Unfortunately this class is not at a good time for me.
Have an interesting week

I need to get myself to some fall arts and crafts fairs this month! Such fun. And today your row of art journals on your desk just caught my eye. And they are full art journals! That’s amazing. Sandy Leigh #40

when i read about your friend it says ‘pang’ in my heart. my man had a stroke, now nearly two years back….it all dépends how fast they were finding him, starting treatment right away…the faster the better the chances to survive…my man made quite a come back although nothing will be ever the same….if he could in any way receive stemcell therapy: do it!

Oh my best wishes to your friend Edwin, what a shock it must have been. You’ve had a good week really, how generous of your hygienist…not only useful but a beautiful colour! Hope you had a lovely time in Eindhoven. Your ‘lost’ page speaks volumes to me of current events.
