“Tuesday morning, and I’m about to write the first post on my blog… pffff…”
Those were the first words I published on my blog (if you’re curious: find this first post on my old blog HERE.) That was 7 years ago today and I’ve come a long way since then! In 2008, when I put my blog up it was called “Marit’s Scrap World” because I was a scrap-booker back then. However, pretty soon after that I focused on Art Journaling and the name became a burden. I changed it into “Marit’s Paper World” at the end of 2010 and blogging (and publishing) under that name ever since – I’m glad I changed it early in those years because I don’t think I could change that name nowadays – a whole bunch of people and companies knows that name now. I don’t WANT to change it either – it still fits!
Sooo… a 7 year ANNIVERSARY today!
As promised, I drew two WINNERS of the giveaway – you find the names at the end of this post.
But let me show you what’s on my work desk first… after all, it’s Wednesday!
[What’s On Your Work desk? Wednesday (WOYWW) is a fun, weekly event hosted by Julia from the UK. Artists from all over the world post a photo of their desk on their blog and leave a link at Julia’s blog. More info about woyww can be found here.]
The photo is taken at 6.45 am (yep, I rose early this morning) and it was still dark outside. We are rapidly heading into the Winter now…
The big journal on my work desk is an altered book I am addicted to lately… it’s called “Grandes Chaleurs” and here’s another spread from that journal
Size 10
But you don’t want to see my latest art journal pages… you want to know who won a copy of the Stampington magazine Art Journaling, won’t you!?!
Here are the WINNERS
In the US…
Outside the US… (France came out of the hat!)
Congratulations LAURIE and MURIEL (I’ll send you gals an email…)
It is still early in the morning – that’s what you get for rising at 6.30, I wrote this blogpost wearing my PJ’s – time to take a shower and get dressed.
Thanks for stopping by at my blog… after all it’s YOU and all your cheering and nice comments that kept me blogging all these years. THANK YOU; I LOVE YOU!!!

Lots of thanks to Marit for this giveaway! It seemed so “hardly possible” to be the one to win among all the people who tried their luck! As I said to Marit via an e-mail I am looking forward to spending lots of time with this magazine and all the inspiration one can find there.

Hi Marit. A wonderful job, isn’t it, when you can work in your PJ’s! It is so dark in the mornings now – I have set up my sunrise lamp again and it was brightly lit when I woke this morning – before the alarm went off. It definitely helps me to wake up properly, as I was wide awake before I got out of bed, which is an achievement in the winter time!
I love seeing your desk, with all its fab labels and all the wonderful projects in progress. I always look out for the link to your post, so I can come and have a look round. BTW, is that a new desk lamp – that lovely green anglepoise on the back of the table? I can’t remember seeing it before (though maybe it’s always been there!).
Have a good week!

Gee, that’s too early for a blog post, Marit! I’m usually up by six, but I’m too dozy to do any blogging at that time. However, it’s never too early (or late) for arting! Love your new spread! The stick figures are great as is the journaling around the other figures. Congrats to the winners and happy 7th anniversary! That’s a long time blogging! Amazing how many people came to mixed media from scrapbooking, myself included! Have a great week! zsuzsa #39

Just got the internet back on. Like the idea of labeling all the things on the desk – I understand yours but some pages I have no idea what tings are. Jackie x

I’m none to keen on these dark mornings and it looks like we are stuck with them for a good while yet doesn’t it. Unfortunately I see 6.45am every week day although I’m none to keen to get out of a warm bed at that time of day. Still it’s very mild here in the Uk, not seasonal at all so it’s not all bad.
Congrats on your 7 year anniversary and here’s to the next 7 years.

The art journal page is gorgeous! Six o’clock. Wow that’s early! I am enjoying not getting up at 4am every morning since I stopped working my job lol.

I’m thrilled to be a winner of such a fabulous magazine, and the very best part is that you are included! Well deserved, and congrats again! I cannot wait to be able to explore and read all of the wonderful things in it. Thank you so much!

Wow Marit, seven years – go you! I couldnt agree more about the blog name, it immediately says what you do with what….and my word, you sure do it in style. And tidily! Did you do all that tiny writing in white on that journal page? My word, I need to get my eyes tested again, I’m not sure I can see to write that small!
Marit says
Yes, the white is writing Julia (but I have to put my reading glasses on for that.) I bought me a new white gelpen and wanted to try it out. The text is about buying and trying it… yep, I can make a loooong text about ‘almost nothing’… ha!

Congratulations with these 7 years. And good luck with your blog for the next 7 ! And so on and on and on….
I’m always curious what the next day shall show.
