Another Wednesday… and my desk lays silently… There are days, weeks (months?) in everyone’s life that all kinds of things happen in and around you that ask for your attention. That’s exactly what is happening to me in the past weeks. My focus is on other things than creating, blogging or be active on social media. The dynamic activity that normally takes place in the studio is put on the back burner. I have learned not to worry about it when that happens and accept that I need those times of reflection. I also know that times like that usually are followed by times filled with inspiration and all kinds of activities..
So, my desk does not show any new things. There’s some stuff that I received that I put on my desk, but nothing creative going on.
I received another ATC from the anniversary swap. This one is made by Sylvia
On the day of the anniversary, I received an email from Linda “Phinner,” an old blog friend that I swapped ATCs with in the past. Although she does not participate in the woyww-event, she saw my ATC on my blog and asked me if we could swap. We made the ‘deal’ to make a few extra ATCs for each other and last week she received my package. Besides the ATC I made for the anniversary, I created five more ATCs that I can show you now.
It looks like I prefer creating small projects at the moment… there’s a tiny art journal laying on my desk also, that I finished last week while spreads in my ‘big’ art journals lay on the side; unfinished. But that’s OK… there’s nobody forcing me to create or work on specific pages so I just go with the flow. I take time to walk in the sun (the weather in the Netherlands is lovely these days) and read books. Inspiration to work in art journals will come back for sure.
Whatever you are working (or not working) on: enjoy your day!
P.S. Good wishes go to Julia, our woyww hostess who is recovering from brain surgery – and a big thank you go to Lunch Lady Jan, who is hosting the woyww event for as long as Julia needs her rest.

You’re right it IS ok to not feel guilty about not crafting continuously…I had done very little sewing until the last two weeks because other stuff got in the way.
I ADORE that card with the Two Friends on it 😀

Cool ATCs Marit! I’m glad to see they can be in landscape orientation as I wasn’t sure! I know those days when you don’t feel like or don’t have the time to create and you’re right – it’s always followed by a frenzy of creativity! It’s a bit like gathering your creative energies. I’ve received your wonderful ATC and I loved the handmade envelope too! Have a wonderful week! zsuzsa #32

So glad to see you are taking life in turn and not letting it dictate the terms. We should enjoy our hobbies and not feel obligated by them. Your ATCs are very fun. Have fun creating! Happy Wednesday! LisaDV #35

Understand completely how you are feeling. The ATC’s are spectacular. , some of the best I have seen in years. Real art and expression does not require a great space.

Lovely ATCs. Sylvia’s is gorgeous. And you have made some pretty special ATCs too. As a Dutch woman I must say I do like the two ladies in traditional costume, giggling. Made me giggle too. I can hear them say it ‘op z’n zeeuws’ in my mind’s eye.
Happy WOYWW!

I think sometimes we just need a break or other things in life are more important and crafting takes a back burner for a little while. Sounds like it’s wonderful to be out and about right now. We have to make use of the good weather while we have it!
The ATCs are just wonderful.
Have a great week

No one should feel forced to do anything, in any case you can’t enjoy doing something if you feel under pressure to do it. Love the ATCs. The one that Sylvia sent you is so cute. Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 26

Hi Marit! Yes, life does get in the way of crafting and social media etc – but as you say that’s OK! And it’s also my excuse for not acknowledging your gorgeous ATC (plus bits!) until now as life has had me doing other stuff. I absolutely adore it, thank you so much for swapping.
Love n hugs,
