Good afternoon lovelies! I thought I’d drop in today to show you my desk and to see how all my British friends across the North Sea are doing… djeez, ladies, what a mess you are all in! That mutant virus is just awful isn’t it? Our government extended the lockdown for another three weeks because in the Netherlands we are all afraid that the mutant virus-variant will spread here too… I will try and make a ‘blog round’ this week and visit all my WOYWW-desk friends to bring you an extra warm hug.
I don’t have much to show myself… my arm is doing better every day but still not healed properly, so I art journal a bit but only for short periods of time – building up a spread takes a couple of days that way but at least I can CREATE a bit! This week I also started working at my job again. Only two hours a day to see how that goes. The first day I was very tired afterwards but it is getting better every day. We build it up carefully.
I took a photo of my desk early this morning so you can see what’s on…
If you read my former post you know that I was interviewed by a journalist of a local door-to-door news paper (do you have those abroad? A free newspaper with local news from your city?) He took a lot of photos of me and my art and the article should be in the newspaper today (only, it wasn’t in the mailbox, so I haven’t seen it printed yet)
but that’s not all…
He got so excited about everything I do that he also made a video-interview! It’s in Dutch, of course, but in case you are interested to see (and hear) me talk and move, you can view it HERE
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you are doing well in these bizarre times… we’ll get there eventually, keep hangin’ on and stay safe!

It’s good to see you looking so well @nd happy Marit and I’m pleased that your arty talents have been shown to a new audience. The Covid virus is mutating worldwide, not just in the UK so it’s down to everyone to be sensible and obey the lockdown rules.

Ooooh, exciting! I will watch the video after I get done with my comments! What fun – you know I love your art so I am not surprised. And yes, the virus is running wild here so I am hiding indoors with my family. and taking the rules VERY seriously. Let’s hope the vaccine roll out ramps up soon!
Happy WOYWW, with a late start

X Jenny

Hi Marit. Oooo – fame! Well done you. You work hard at your art, and I’m sure folk will enjoy seeing it. Good to see you properly. Thanks so much for your lovely concerned comments on my post today. I went AWOL as one of my grandsons had a potentially life changing hospital appointment, and I didn’t think I could concentrate on posting and commenting – but all is currently well.
Take care. God bless.

Hi Marit! I’m so happy to hear that you are healing nicely, my friend! What a cool article they did about you! Your art is so beautiful, I’m sure they were excited to be able to feature it!

Marit, how very exciting for you! We do not have anything like that over here in the states, that I know of anyway! Maybe in some communities, but yours is the first I have ever seen like that! We may get someone featured in our local newspaper for an award, etc…but I have never heard of a door-to-door journalist to feature city happenings. That is such a great idea! Our only free paper is for flea market selling. Nothing exciting! LOL What a treat for you! I love your art space!! Such great light! I did watch the video and of course, I could not understand it but could get a sense of things. Ohhhh your journals are amazing and I love your art style!! Just wonderful! You’re such a pretty lady and with a great smile!! Good on your, you deserve the recognition! 🙂 Blessings to you and stay safe and healthy! Felicia #33

Groetjes,
Bernardine

Glad that the arm was making progress Marit and you have been able to ease your way back into work. The video interview was great. I managed to pick up bits and pieces here and there (my German knowledge helped). The reporter was certainly interested in finding out more about your journals and how your workshops work. I hadn’t realised how large your Chronicles journals are! Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

That must of been exciting being interviewed and you must be hopping up and down waiting for it to come out in print! I know translations lose a little sometimes, but I would like to know what your quote on the wall says. Happy WOYWW and have a great week. Angela #10

If only the countries (all countries) would ban unnecessary travel between them I am sure it would help such a lot. I hope you are staying safe over there and that it is not too long before I can visit Amsterdam again. I really miss my trips over the water.
I can now say I know a lady who has been interviewed for broadcast. How good is that – and how well deserved to have your talent recognised.
Love the length of your lockdown hair – wish mine looked as good.
Hugs, Neet 17 xx

Hi Marit, We used to have a local free newspaper, although I have never received it in my current home. We don’t have door to door reporters. How exciting to be interviewed about your art. We all know how talented you are, and now you will have a far wider audience to share your Chronicles with. I did watch some of the video, and although a friend did try to teach me Dutch several years ago, he did not have much success! I’m glad you are on the mend from your surgery. Life changing moments like that are such a shock to us – especially when they are out of the blue! Thanks for visiting my blog – I am very new to journalling – I wouldn’t even call it journalling – Doodling is probably more apt. I am also very new to crocheting – but I’m always enthusiastic about trying something new – especially if there is lots of colour involved. Indeed the gift from my daughter was special, I am so very proud of her, and my other daughter. Stay safe and well Marit, sending you hugs, Heather xx #18

Hello Marit, thank you for your reply. I saw the word Poesie on your book. I just read that word today for the first time in a story I am reading. The setting is the !6th century and it meant poems. My mother had a friendship book, with drawings and quotes different people had done. Angela x

Hi! How exciting for you ~ I was able to translate the article to English and read it, and I turned off the sound of the video and skipped to watch you open your beautiful journals. So much color, and combinations of pictures and fonts ~ very creative and wonderful to see. Enjoy your weekend! Love, Karen#30

HI Marit, sorry for the late visit. That’s a brilliant idea to have a door-to-door newspaper man, what a great way to keep people connected. And how exciting to be interviewed on video. I really enjoyed seeing you at your desk and your art journals looked absolutely amazing! Although I didn’t understand most of what was said, I noticed quite a few words were recognisable – such as “spray ink” and “workshop”. You’ve made me itche to do some art journalling now 🙂 Have a great weekend. Annie C #34

Hi Marit! Great photo of you! We do not have door-to-door journalists here, we are way too suspicious of strangers! But how nice that he thought so much of your work! We are locked down here in Ontario as well, in part for the same reason – the UK variant has raised it’s ugly head here as well. Not the same level of lockdown as we had in March, but mostly people are staying home, in our small city we just had our 1st day of no cases since November yesterday. Hopefully that will not encourage people to start mingling again…Glad to hear you are healing, slowly but surely. Thanks for your visit, Lindart #35
PS: Do try a tracker, my trackers have helped me a lot lately just to get away from the TV and do other things! Lots of ideas on Pinterest!

Thank you for your visit, Marit. So far the new Vitamix is behaving very well and I’m really enjoying using it – and the food that’s coming out of it, of course! I agree with you about the wool – I’d much prefer to choose it in real life, but I always have to shop online these days, quite apart from Covid. We have one small local wool shop and she wouldn’t stock the large cones that I like. You do take a bit of a chance but it’s usually OK. The very dark grey that I ordered is such a warm shade that it’s verging on brown but I don’t mind too much because I know I can still use it, even if not for the kitty throw. I expect I could have returned it but decided not to bother. The kitties really are nice and warm on my legs, even if they do weigh a ton!

You’re doing so well Marit, glad to know that work is letting you build up slowly too, that’s just the ticket. Be kind to yourself. Exciting about the interview and to see lovely you ‘for real’ in the video, I hope you’re pleased with it!

Hi Marit, I am glad to read you are doing well and finding some time to create as you heal. nope, newspapers are not free here they are actually getting pretty expensive over the last few years to have them delivered because, I think a lot of the news has moved on line and it cuts into their income. ~Stacy #36
