Hi there, good afternoon to my fellow deskers – YES, I AM BACK today… it’s been ages since I joined the tribe over at Julia for What’s On Your Work desk, Wednesday. My days usually are filled with work (still at my job at the Zeeuws Archief) and writing lessons for my online workshop and – over the last months – a lot of appointments and visits to doctors and specialists. It’s been quite some months! But I won’t talk about all that – I’m doing OK now and today I have the day off (’cause of Liberation Day – a national holiday in the Netherlands.) I even think that I will be able to squeeze some ‘blog visiting time’ in over the next days. Since I really DO MISS the weekly visits to Julia’s blog and my fellow deskers I use this free day to join in and say HELLO to you all! It’s with mixed feelings that I join though, ’cause I will miss Shaz – who, as we know, passed away last February… I do welcome her beloved Doug, who sometimes joins the woyww-posts to give updates and we all keep her memory alive.
On to my post then, and first and foremost, ’cause that’s what you came over to see isn’t it, here’s my desk.
For the ones not recognizing the ‘lad’ on the photo: that’s Leslie McKeown – who was the lead singer of the Bay City Rollers. My teen idol died unexpectedly at April 20 and I want to memorize him on the page of my Chronicles art journal.
I’m a bit behind in creating weekly pages (on my desk is the start of week 16) but I am also behind with publishing my pages. That makes you the lucky ones, ’cause here’s four spreads for you to see!
The Chronicles of Marit 2021 – Week 12
The Chronicles of Marit 2021 – Week 13
The Chronicles of Marit 2021 – Week 14
The Chronicles of Marit 2021 – Week 15
This last spread needs some explanation ’cause you may wonder what that photo is about: I was diagnosed with acute cataracts on both eyes so after having all those health issues and surgery last year, there’s more surgeries on it’s way. Let’s hope these ones go well without complications this time, and will leave me with sharp vision again.
I hope you enjoyed seeing me join woyww today and I look forward to visiting you back to see how YOU are doing!
Hi Marit, good to see you on WOYWW again. I love your journal pages! I had cataract ops in both eyes. I still need reading glasses but have 20/20 distance vision now. I hope your other health issues are sorted now.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Hi Marit, I’m surprised you manage a visit at all working full time. However, I miss your art work as it’s so interesting so it’s great to see you back for a while. Hope your health problems are getting sorted. Stay safe my friend and wishing you a very happy creative woyww, Angela x19x
Its so good to see you back with us again – I always love seeing your journal spreads. They are so different from anything I do and such fun to look at. I really hope that your cataracts are sorted easily and your health problems are fixed. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#9)
OMG. I adore your AJ spreads – so varied but all so evocative and creative. SO nice to see you on WOYWw again. Hope you get your eyes sorted soon and easily.
Late start – best laid plans and all that…

Hi Marit! Nice to see you again – and what a come back with all these wonderful pages. So sorry to hear about your health struggles – hope they all get sorted pretty soon. Happy liberation day! Was that when the Allied Forces reached the Netherlands? Lucky it wasn’t the Soviets, otherwise you would have ended up under Communist rule like Hungary and the whole of Eastern Europe! Our liberation day was April 4th – but really it was the start of the occupation of Hungary by the Soviet Union. History is funny that way and my son is learning about the Cold War right now, some of which I lived through! Hope you stick around for the ATC swap! xx zsuzsa #20
So good to see you again, sorry to hear you’ve been having health issues, i hope all is ok now and you are recovered. Good luck with the eyes, too! Lovely to see your Chronicles again. Take care. Helen #4
Hi Marit. You have been busy – but still reckon there is some catching up to do… well done. I wish you well with the cataract ops – my mum had hers done and her vision was sharp as anything afterwards!! Didn’t miss a thing! Hope all the other health issues are now behind you.
Take care. God bless.

I hope all goes well with the cataracts Marit and you don’t have to wait too long to get them done. So good to see you back and sharing your fantastic Chronicles pages. My favourite Bay CIty Rollers song was Bye Bye Baby. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3
Fabulous pages but I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having cataract problems – I hope they get sorted out soon for you. I was sad to hear about Les Mckeown, I saw the Rollers in concert back in the day although I wasn’t a big enough fan to wear all the tartan clothing!
Hope you have a good week,

Nice to see you back, Marit. Some great journal pages there. I hope you are OK with your health issues.
Happy belated WOYWW,

It’s fabulous to see you back Marit, especially with your fun spreads and colourful pages! Late to the party this week – stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8
Thank you for visiting, Marit, and for your kind words and good wishes. I’m sorry to hear you had a cancer scare last year. It does alter how you look at things, doesn’t it! I saw the nurse yesterday and she’s referred me to the breast unit and says I should be seen within a fortnight, which is good. I am not worrying but taking things a day at a time and hoping for the best. So glad you like the cat blanket! I added the penultimate column of squares this afternoon, so only 8 more squares to add and it will be complete, apart from the border. This will probably take a while because the blanket is so large!

WOW! You have such a tidy desk and then… all those paint filled pages filled with so much energy! I was earliy to the party but it takes me ages to get round as I can’t see my letters on my newish laptop coz its silver with lights under them…\i usually type out my comment and then have to go back and correct the whole passage again… as its all jibberish! My sis inlaw, being ten years younger and me and only six when I first met her love the Bay City Rollers and Wore all the tartan! Have a great week, Keep Crafting! Stay safe and Happy WOYWW!?((Lyn))#6
Great to see you Marit, you’ve had a long year of medics and health being at the forefront of your mind, I hope that you are able to relax a bit now, although I’m sure until the cataracts are dealt with you won’t feel fully fit.I know of a few people who have had surgery for cataracts and all of them have Ben really pleased with the results. Try not to be anxious. Love seeing your chronicles, your lettering continues to make me smile, it’s the thing I admire first, before I even look at pictures and colours!
Hi Marit – OMG – I was a huge Bay City Rollers Fan – Derek was for me – however I had no idea Les had passed – very sad! I don’t have a journal (well not yet anyway) my scrapbooking was my way of memorialising things – like when Lady Diana died, and other life events. I hardly scrapbook now either.. FB has taken over. Well I am just popping by to have a sneaky look – I am back to WOYWW after a long time out so seeing who’s who and what’s what LOL!! Hope to catch up again soon – Cheers Maurs #33 xxx
Still trying to catch up with my commenting! Yesterday was Mother’s Day here in Australia so after a lovely lunch and lots of fizz I didn’t get anything else done…
Yes I have missed your Chronicles of Marit!!
Happy Woyww!
