MY-OH-MY, how long has it been since I posted a photo of my workdesk? Has it really been June since I last put my name in the woyww-circle-list? Well, life takes a flight isn’t it? I even have not posted anything else but a weekly haiku over the last weeks, so there’s a bunch of new things to show… do you have time? Well then, grab a cuppa and enjoy (and if you only want to look at my desk and skip the journal pages, go ahead I won’t blame you!)
The little “Cairn” book on my desk I made to practise a special binding technique, here’s a close up.
I used very thick watercolour paper for the pages (I guess: 300 grams or more… I had a big piece of that in my stash) and I plan on filling this book with paintings of cairn. A cairn is a human-made pile (or stack) of stones raised for a purpose, usually as a marker or as a burial mound. The word cairn comes from the Scottish Gaelic: càrn ~ Wikipedia
Next… all the Chronicles art journal spreads I made over the last weeks (months even…) I’m sorry it’s a lot but if I don’t publish it now, I probably never will…

Ha, I reached a goal and posted those spreads before I turn sixty *** ??? *** Sixty? Gulp! Oh yes… it’s quite a big number but next week I will get there. My birthday. I’m getting used to the number by now. I might even start to like it… ‘Sixty’. Yep. Sixty. Next week. Cheers!
Oooh, I LOVE that watercolour of the balanced rocks, the colours are just my cup of tea and you’ve caught the textures perfectly. The little book is fascinating too, I’ve never seen binding like that before. We have lots of cairns in the UK especially Wales!

Welcome back, you have been missed but it’s great to play catch up with those chronicles. So full of your artwork, they are always a joy to see.
Love the binding on that new book, how fabulous is that! Great painting of a cairn too. This is going to be magic.
Hugs, neet 8 xx
I always love seeing your desk and how you display what’s on it. That is an unusual binding technique. Very new and original,
Your Cairn stones are adorable and so well done. Your journal pages fascinate me. Mixed media at its finest and some quirky journal pages, too. I was in awe. Happy birthday next week, dear Marit!
First off . . . sixty is the new forty!
Super journal pages, so bright and full of joy.
Have a good week

I forgot to leave my number, even though you visited while I slept. Happy WOYWW from # 3.
I’ve missed you and your chronicles. Good to see you this time. I couldn’t believe it when I turned 60 either… thanks for visiting. Helen #5
I had a visit from that big sister of mine this morning…checking up on me :-)… hence why I’m late commenting.
I really love your book binding and your pages.
Hugs,

Hi Marit! Feels like I haven’t visited for absolute ages! Hope you’ve been well! I LOVE those watercolour textures – and of course your signature style journal pages! Happy birthday for next week! I think deep down we all still feel 20 years old, don’t we, LOL! Age is just a number anyway! xx zsuzsa #22
Great to see you, fabulous journal pages. Brilliant watercolour and intriguing book binding. I hat all the zero ending birthdays. My next one is two 6’s – only the second one is upside down🙈🙈. Happy WOYWW. Angela #2
Oh I’m already thinking about my 60th and it isn’t until February next year! I’ll get free prescriptions which is great considering my skin condition. I think I can officially say I am retired when I turn 60. Hubby retired at 66yrs just over a year ago but I’ve been a stay at home MUM/housewife so it makes it difficult to quantify really. Loving the journaling pages I think the naked lady needs a bit of English narrative, I’ll google it in a minute – LOL. Your watercolour stones are delightful, I’ve really taken to watercolour and that’s right up my street, and the book binding is very special. Hugs BJ#1
Hi Marit, great to see you again. I started off okay this morning then got distracted by the garden! Love the binding on your book and the Chronicles are always my favourite to see. Wishing you a happy and creative woyww.Hugs, Angela x14x
Such a clever way to bind your little book. Your artwork is lovely and I’m sure cairns will inspire some beautiful watercolours.
Hello my dear Marit, your name leapt off the page when I looked at the list – I knew someone was missing!! That binding looks complex and beautiful and I lovethe idea of the photos. You have been busy with all those spreads. Love the phone box – we had one in our ‘village’ (no phone in it though) until a few months ago. Never did find out where it went. We have things like that and ‘heritage’ street lights so I’m surprised the residents committee didn’t complain. Anyhoo, I’m late getting round because Wednesdays never seem to go as planned, a bit like life in general!! Have a good week, and happy happy birthday!! 60 is no big deal, I’m closer to 70 now ……..Love n hugs, Cindy xx #21
Hi Marit, good to see you back and happy 60th birthday for next week!
I adore your cairn painting and the lovely little book.
Take care; enjoy your week

Welcome back and with times so busy I too have been missing in action here off and on. LOVING your binding techniques. Andfun in all of your chronicles. Oh warning !!! 60’s just fly by, 70’s are a bit of a slow down but it is what it is ! Just hope it’s all HAPPY. Enjoy a great weekend. AND A HAPPY BIRTHDAY
I’ve missed seeing the Chronicles Marit so really good to see you again. Happy big birthday! Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
Such wonderful creative expressions! I enJOY making my own journals, and totally love the binding technique on the little book – so lovely!
How beautiful the cairn stones are! I love making journals and funnily enough the Fodder School lesson for Oct is a coptic bound journal. I love the variation you shared. What is it called?? I’ve done plain coptic before so might be nice to bring something new to it. As ever, the Chronicles are a joy.
Happy, so very late, WOYWW!
