Hello there sweeties, everything OK with you still? I sure hope so! I’m doing allright and spend most of my days in my atelier, especially on rainy days like today. Since it’s the first day of the month, I plan on writing a newsletter but I might postpone that and do it tomorrow ’cause I always write TWO newsletters – a Dutch and an English version – and it’s a lot of work so I might instead finish the art journal spread that is on my desk. (If you want to subscribe to my monthly newsletter, go HERE for ENGLISH and HERE for DUTCH– if you do that now you may be on time to receive the July-letter 😉 )
I mentioned it already: there’s an unfinished art journal spread on my desk – and a bit more ‘stuff’ too.
See those small photos on the page? Yes, that’s me. I went to the hairdresser and got a complete new look! LOOK!
Djeez…. the last time I painted my hair must have been in the eighties, when I did all kinds of weird things with my hair. After that, I never-ever had it paint or bleach anymore – and now this! I am so very happy with this look – thanks to the lovely stylist Demi who works at hairdresser’s Wolter Vos.)
There’s another challenge up in the scrapbooking challenge group where I am a guest-designer: Dutch Dares The theme for this month is: scraplift a layout that one of the team members made this year and use an old holiday photo. Here’s my take on it.
Detail/journaling: “On holiday in France, dad always wanted to go up some Tour de France mountain. We, Mommy, my brother and I, trusted blindly that our old car would make it and that Dad, as a former car mechanic, knew what he was doing but still it was pretty scary, to drive up and down those steep slopes.”
And here are my latest Chronicles spreads

I leave you with this, I have some more art pieces waiting in line but will save those for another day… when I look out of my window I see the sun began to shine, it’s lunchtime and I will get me a sandwich on the balcony and spend the afternoon creating. Thanks for your visit, have a wonderful day. Stay safe, go create!
Oooh, very nice, I do like your new hair – I think it’s really great fun and suits you! The weather doesn’t know what it’s doing in Wales today, though the sun has just come out so I’m going to hang the washing out! Lovely journal pages as usual, I do love seeing your inventive art.

Hi Marit. Loving the new hair cut – well done for going for a new look!! I only wish I could – mine has a curl in it which precludes any such delights!! Hope you have enjoyed your lunch out on the balcony. Good journal pages.
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Lovely hair style and good on you for being brave to make a change. Absolutely love all your creations … but, the Chronicles of Marit is superb. Have fun while you create.

That is a nice hairstyle and it suits you. I don’t know what will happen to mine next week when I go to the hairdressers. Do not know what to do with mine as it is so handy to tie back at the moment. I too used to do all kinds of things to my hair. My friend worked in a hairdressers so I used to go up and we would try things out on ourselves. The worse one I remember is going a bit green because colours was not as prevalent as it is today.
Love your scrapbook page and the story that goes with it – those were the days I guess.
Nice to see Marits’ Chronicles back in print as you might say. Love that lounging figure.
Hugs, Neet 5. xx
Love the new hair – I dyed mine last year – bright pink!! All gone now , back to white ha ha . Fab scrapbook page. We have had some very dodgy cars when we were first married and unfortunately have lots of stories of disastrous holidays because of them ! have a fab week. Soojay #14

Morning Marit, your happy smiling face shows just how much your new hair style has given you a boost it makes many people feel better when they have had a little trim and restyle.. I wondered to just let the natural greys grow in my own but it’s much easier for me just to wash in a colour which I have been doing for years. Beautiful artwork Marit, you seem so happy doing what you love in your creative space, keep doing what you love because we love it too.. Happy WoywW hugs Tracey #8 xx
Love your new hair!! Could really do with a haircut myself. I’m thinking of going grey (well colouring grey, I actually am grey lol) I like my current ‘peachy/pink’ but it’s not reliable and I don’t like being high maintenenace!! Love your pages. Stay well, stay safe, Hugs Cindy #27
Love the new hair style and colouring Marit. I can’t wait to have mine chopped next Tuesday. Great pages and scrapbook layout. Less is definitely more. Stay safe and Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #2
Great new hair colour, Marit! When I was having my cancer treatment in 2015 I kept up with my hair colouring, however poorly I was feeling – sometimes it was a huge effort but it was something that kept me going, and it cheered everybody up at the chemo unit! I had orange, purple and blue! Nowadays, being really busy with things, I’ve just let it go grey. Maybe one day I’ll put some wacky colours back in! It’s great fun. I love your journal pages, and I particularly like the first one with the shaped piece with the absolutely beautiful handwriting on it. Very stylish!
Happy belated WOYWW,
