Goodmorning fellow deskers! This will be the last Wednesday that I’ll be able to join woyww for a while – I took Wednesdays off of work for three weeks in a row and this is the last one, next week I’ll be at work again.
Last Sunday I spend the afternoon making gelli prints and recording the session for my online workshop. My workdesks became pretty messy… I usually clean up after creating but not this time. It was late, I was tired and there was a cycling race on tv that I wanted to see so I left the tables as they were, thinking I could play with the gelli plate again on my free day. So here it is: my desk(s) as I left them on Sunday.
It had been ages since I created a scrapbook layout but the challenge over at Challenge YOUrself caught my eye. It showed a color palette that made me think of some photo’s that were made in Antwerp last january…
So I decided to play along and create a layout BUT… being rusty and all it took me FOUR DAYS (with some pauses in between) to get it done. How come I have no problem whatsoever to start creating in an art journal, no matter what size, but paralize as soon as I grab a 12 x 12 scrapbook? It became quite an obsession to get it done but hey… I finished it!
Here’s some random art journal spreads that I created earlier this year (I have several art journals in different sizes that I create in)
“There’s a morning to come…” (Grandes Chaleurs journal, spread 30 x 48 cm)
“Who are those people?” (Bauhaus journal, spread 29,7 x 21 cm)
My gelli plate is calling me and my fingers itch so I will put on an old shirt and start dipping my hands in the paint. I hope to visit your desks later today and/or in the days to come. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Happy Easter (don’t eat too much chocolate!)

Lots of great crafting for us all to see today Marit. I love the challenge piece you did.
Sorry you are going to be missing for a while again, it is always lovely to catch up with you and your Chronicles.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
Hi Marit! I love everything here. The photo of your messy desk is not even messy! You should see mine!!! (LOL!!) And I can understand your angst when it comes to scrapbooking vs art journaling!!! I am just the opposite. I can make a scrapbook page in no time, but it takes me hours to create an art journal page!! LOL!!! Anyway, I think your scrapbook page is beautiful and so creative! I love what you did with your gorgeous photos and hand written journaling! WOW! This is stunning. Thank you so much for joining us at Challenge YOUrself for the color palette challenge this month. YAY!
Lovely to see you on the desks – I love your pages, they are fabulous – I was particularly drawn to ‘Who are those People’. Like you I struggle with Layouts. I think it’s because I like to work very small and 12×12 is so much bigger than anything else I do. I think you’ve done a great job with the layout and the colours work really well together.
Hope you have a great week

Hi Marit, I love your challenge piece. Antwerp is a great city. Your other journals are lovely too.
I’m sorry you won’t be back here soon.
Take care, happy Easter and happy WOYWW

Hi Marit, that’s a great colour palette and I love how you’ve used it. I don’t htink your desk is so bad, I find when I’m Gelli printing I end up with sheets of print everywhere. Take care and look forward to your return. Don’t work too hard. Happy woyww, Angela x12x
Work tends to get in the way doesn’t it. That’s why I schedule mine and link as soon as I can . Great projects as always. Happy woyww and hope to see you soon Helen #10.
Cute. Thanks for playing along with us over at Challenge YOUrself.
HI Marit! I love the colours in your challenge scrapbook page – you aced it! I often need challenges like that to get me goin as well. I haven’t done scrapbooking in a few years. I should, though. It would be nice to do a scrapbook of my granddaughter! Your “messy” desk looks very nice and tidy to me! Gelli Plates are next on my Fodder School 1 lessons, and I’m looking forward to it, not having had much experience with them. Happy Easter! Lindart #14
Your journal spreads are lovely. I think you did a fabulous job of incorporating the challenge colors into your layout! This is a very nice project all around!
I broke out my Gelli plates today, so I may have to return here for inspiration!
Have a fabulous day and week!

Hey Marit!
Thanks for the kind words last week. I’m not sure I’m that good at designing yet, I’m not exactly making a living from it!
I love the colours of that scrapbook page. Those colour prompts are brilliant, aren’t they?
I am really upset. Dolly, my chihuahua, got attacked this morning. A dog barking at her from the other side of the fence suddenly put his head through and dragged her in. I think she has come out of shock now, she has a puncture wound and a bruise. She is probably very sore too.
Wishing you a very happy Easter. Angela #18
I love that you think your desk got into a mess! It looks so organised to me, but it is lovely to see your space in action, and my word Marit, that’s a large gelli plate. Even your brayer clean up sheet looks artistic! Hope you enjoyed your three weeks of Wednesdays off, am sure you’ve done loads! Happy Easter, too!
Hi Marit, thank you for your very welcome on my post. You have been a lot busier than I have this week – or any other week recently. Your layout is super. That colour palette is really challenging. Have a great week. Greetings from Scotland. Elizabeth x
Wonderful!!! Thanks so much for participating in our CHALLENGE YOURSELF challenge!!! I appreciate that you play along and I enjoy visiting your blog!! Have a happy crafty day!! Deanne at A Little Bit O’ Paper
Love your pages!! I so get the ‘freezing’. I can make something with scraps or odd die cuts really quick but anything from scratch…. probably why I still have so much paper!! Thank you for your visit, I went a bit downhill Weds afternoon (think it was the realisation of how old I was) and took to my bed so only just getting round now!! Have a good week, love n hugs Cindyxx
What lovely artwork you have shared. I always love to see your pages!
Susan #5. Happy WOYWW!
Great take on our color palette. Love your design and how you fit so many photos into a 12×12 layout. The 3D cutout is the best. Love the effect. Thank you for joining in with us at Challenge YOUrself.
What a gorgeous layout and the details are perfection~ Thank you for sharing with the Challenge YOUrself group!!
That was 4 days well spent! Thank you for sharing your work with us at Challenge YOUrself!
