Only one night ofΒ sleep andΒ online Creative Summer Camp opens!
The past few days I’ve been busy uploading all the documents
into the community. This afternoon, I already received emails
from participants… they can hardly wait to start π
I feel a bit like a scout leader (what’s that called in English?)
with a whole bunch of laughing and screaming kids waiting
at the gate to come in. Patience, kids, patience…
I’ll open the doors tomorrow!
On to my own creativity now…
..
The new prompt at A Year in the Life of an Art Journal is up!
Our host this time is Glenda.
THE PROMPT: Faith
THE SONG: Heaven help me by Gretchen Wilson
PRODUCT/TECHNIQUE: Wings
It felt a bit odd, to come with this ‘simple page’… it’s just the photo (sanded
on the edges) and some words from the lyrics, but the image is so strong
that I didn’t want to add more to it. I find the page finished this way!
(21 x 19,5 cm - 12.2 x 9.1 inch)
It’s not an ‘autobiographic’ page or something, and the woman isn’t me.
My personal opinion – and way of life – is that it’s better to face
your ‘demons’ (yes, I have them. We all do, you know) and by facing them,
they become less frightening…
And here’s my weekly page
The Chronicles of Marit 2011 – week 21
31 x 23 cm - 12.2 x 9.1 inch watercolor paint - water soluble oil crayon - grey fineliner
The spiral of stones re-emerged on my art journal page this week…
I like the way this came out as a ‘Zen-page’.
I can do with some ‘Zen’ these days π
Alrighty folks – I still have some last things to do before I can go to bed.
Summer Camp needs to be spic and span.
I’ll better hurry and get to it…!
See you soon!
oh no! I haven’t had time to pack yet!!! I guess I’ll only be bringing a toothbrush for spattering and a blankie for cleaning up afterwards!!!
: .)
beautiful pgs. Marit! hope everything goes fantastic with your camp!!
Your page is striking, Marit! Sometimes the best designs are those that are kept simple. Ahhh, yes! I could use a little “Zen” in my life too!!! Good luck with your grand opening tomorrow!!! I’m sure there will be a LOT of very happy campers!!! Hugs, Terri xoxo
This little camper is a little nervous as she has never been to camp before, but I’m sure it’s going to be FUN, can’t wait π
Beautiful pages – the stone spiral is inspired π
Looking forward to getting in to the camp site tomorrow, hopefully it will be drier than this weekend’s camp was.
These are amazing as always my dearest!! Good luck with your summer camp! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
I signed-up this afternoon! I can’t wait till you open the doors!
I simply love the simplicity of your AYITLOAAJ page Marit! Sometimes it’s the most simple pages that really hit home and pack in alot of feeling!! The zen page is very soothing too and I love the light colors. I’m giggling over imagining you as the scout leader with your whistle and vest! hehe
Your camp looks like you are working very hard to make it great!
Your AYITLOAAJ page cracked me up! You had to add “it’s not autobiographic or anything”. I wrote on the blog that I know it isn’t, because you and I have had quite a few chats about that before!!!
Your chronical page is very zen like!
Hope you are figuring out your crossroad question. Good luck!
xxDaniella
Lovely pages both. The first one kinda grips me. That “simple” page speaks volumes! The second page is definitely peaceful. I like them both!!
OMG! Great AYITLOAAJ page Marit. And I agree – the stones spiral is very Zen indeed… I like it a lot! And Phinner’s gags make me laugh – toothbrush painting indeed!!! I hope she uses paint and not toothpaste! Heehee! =)
I bet you ARE a fearless and fun fun fun camp leader to all of your lucky campers!
The simplicity in your lady page is wonderful and very powerful!
Happy June to you dearest!

Zo druk in de weer op zomerkamp dat ik echt vergeten ben een bezoekje aan je blog te brengen…. oeps…
Prachtige werken, vooral de “zen” bladzijde vind ik SUPERMOOI!!
I really did think I posted on this, but anyway…I just dropped by to say, I will be offline for a period. don’t know how long. Could be a week, could be longer depending on when I get a new computer. (I have to turn this one in for good.) Knowing me it won’t be too long as I can’t do without a computer.
Have fun at summercamp! π
