Just a short blogpost today, at least when it comes to the text ’cause I have enough art to show to make this a long blogpost after all… here’s what I created over the past months: Chronicles art journal spreads and a collage tryptych.
Chronicles Week 43
A lovely, sunny week full of fun appointments and events, I hope the spread will also come across as cheerful (that was/is the intention.) The background is a gelli-plate print and pieces from an atlas. The collage: cut out bodies on which I painted my own heads. A printed logo of an art fair I visited and a stamp.
Chronicles Week 44
Just playing and messing around on this spread; there wasn’t much to report in week 44 so I just went wild… I left the background of the pages blank, added some pictures and some text and that was it.
Chronicles Week 45
There was a lot of commotion going on in politics, in the Netherlands as well as global. On this spread a lot of news-photos, only the first one (top left corner) shows positive news: my mother – Johanna Kruit – received the ‘prize of the Zeeland bookstores’ for her entire oeuvre. The rest of the week was doom and gloom. The background is a gelli print.
Chronicles Week 46
My beloved pinched a nerve in his back which caused his right leg to hurt and he could not walk… the pain subsided a bit after taking heavy painkillers the doctor prescribed but it will take a while before he can use his leg properly again. He managed getting around with a walking stick. I got the photo of a man with a stick from the internet and painted a head on it. The background is a gelliprin and text ‘written’ with paint.
Collage tryptych
The group exhibition I took part in ended in October. I created three little collages for the three ladies that run the gallery. Together the collages make a tryptych and they all got one.
Here’s the seperate collages
Thanks for stopping by my blog, I really appreciate you still reading it!

Lovely collages and journal spreads. I agree about the smart people. Also always fun to spot a Swede among everything (Ronja/Hanna). I haven’t watched the new series on Netflix yet, because I loved the old one so much.
Merry December to you!
