Crocheting and art journaling (woyww 415)

May 17, 2017 By Marit 20 Comments

Hi there georgeous ones… are you enjoying your day? Does the sun shine as bright in your place as it does in mine? You can see it outside my window… the street outside is overexposed due to the bright sunlight.

Still, I am in my atelier. For now anyway because there are some things I want to finish today before I go sit on my balcony to catch some of those sunrays on my skin.

My balcony… no, I don’t have a picture of it yet as I am still crocheting patches for the ‘granny square’ (see last week’s post) but given the pace at which I crochet it is possible that it will be finished next week. I’ll show you how far I’ve come but first, here’s a photo of my desk for today’s “What’s On Your Workdesk, Wednesday”

WOYWW #415

And another photo, taken of the desk to the left… a bunch of small cotton balls and behind that, on the paper-drawers, are the patches I crocheted so far.

There are 135 and I will need 180 patches to make a sqare big enough to cover my lawn chair. The black cotton balls to the right will be used to crochet all the patches together.

I work on the granny square in the evening while watching tv with my beloved. During the day I can be find in my atelier – right now I’m working on week 18 in my ‘Chronicles’ art journal but here’s two older spreads that I did not publish yet

The Chronicles of Marit 2017 – Week 152017-chronicles-week15

We visited my son, who lives in Amsterdam now, in week 15 – hence the postcard of the Amsterdam houses and a photo of me and beloved on an Amsterdam bridge.

The Chronicles of Marit 2017 – Week 16

2017-chronicles-week16

In week 16 I decided to stop drinking alcohol for 30 days… drinking wine on a daily base has become a habit and I thought it might be good to ‘reset’ my body. Also, I’m trying to loose some weight. I’ve always been quite slim but since the menopause I’ve gained weight that is hard to get rid of. I’ve never been on a diet before and it was not going very well so I thought drinking water instead of wine might do the trick. (It did, ’cause I’m alcohol free for 27 days now and I lost 2 kilo’s, yay!)

And that’s it for today sweeties… thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy your day.
Do something creative.
Walk in the Sun.
Drink some water 🙂

Hi Marit, love the vibrant colours in your art journal in the top picture. No sun for us today, I’m afraid, it’s absolutely pouring down. Which the garden is enjoying, even if I’m not! Love your two Chronicle pages, and well done on the weight loss.Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 XxX

Looks like your crocheted rug is going to be stunning. The AJ pages look amazing with those images. A number of years ago I stopped having a glass (or 2) of wine at night and was amazed at how much weight I lost. So much better to have the very occasional glass. Have a lovely week.

Hiya! Oh I love those granny squares – they’re sooo bright and colourful. They are going to look fantastic with a border of the black yarn…you’ll have to show us when you’ve finished it!

Your chronicles are superb. Since I continue to have bladder problems(UTI, term used here) my life is wine free and OH how I miss my evening glass on the deck. Today is dawning and the clouds have thinned out looks like sunny and bright.

How I love your chronicles, they make me smile, all the colour and text ideas, even in a language I don’t speak, would keep me browsing for hours! You’re doing really well with the crochet squares!

Hi Marit sweetie, no the sun has not been shining today in fact quite the opposite as it’s rained all day today which is a good excuse for staying in and crafting. We needed it actually as it’s been very dry. Pleased to see the crochet coming on nicely. Amsterdam looks like a lovely place, never been though we have friends who live there that we used to ski with. Have a great crafty week and a happy woyww, Angela x15x

Morning Marit. The sun is shining today although we’ve had rain for most of the week with more forecast tomorrow. The garden is loving it although it’s keeping me indoors, not where I like to be.
Your crochet reminded me of a blanket I used to have on my bed when I was little. My mum crocheted it from wool she had left over so each square reminded me of something. i wonder whatever happened to it.
    Gorgeous journal pages.
    Enjoy your week

I used to drink wine everyday as well – and I stopped for the same reason! Now I only have maybe one glass on a weekend, but always when we go out for dinner (maybe even 2!) I’ve saved a bunch of money! Good luck with your 30 day hiatus! I can now get pretty “drunk” on one glass one wine. . .LOL! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #33

Wow, Marit, I absolutely adore the vibrancy of that art journal page on your desk. Good luck with the crocheting. I think I’ll have to find a journal to use as a weekly digest for 2018. Sarah #17

    groetjes.
