It’s almost lunchtime and I spend a good amount of time writing – and especially translating – this haiku…

There’s gonna be trouble!
In Dutch, the haiku has a double meaning but I could not get quite catch that in English. Least of all did I manage to get the correct number of syllables. Before I spend all afternoon trying to find the exact words, I call it finished and trust you ‘get the message’ despite the poor translation.
I submit this haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share a haiku on Friday: Haiku my Heart.
I spend my day off yesterday creating a spread in my art journal. Week 34 was a week with high Summer temperatures, so the postcard is an extra funny touch… see the detail photos.
The Chronicles of Marit 2019 – Week 34
While temperatures hit the 30 degrees (Celcius), my mama send me this card together with funny socks… the socks are from fabric they make nylon stockings from – very, VERY thin – with little hearts woven into it. My mum knows all too well that I will never, ever put on crazy idiot socks like that.
I burst into laughter when I read the card: “Dear Marit, here a already a pair of socks because winter is coming. Love from your mum.”
Little things like that make my day.
Enjoy your weekend, I hope you have days filled with laughter too!
