Goodmorning lovely ones. I don’t have much to say today but I can show you some things so come on in…
First, this is how my desk looks this morning. (Photo taken for What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday. A bunch of artsy people come together at Julia’s blog Stamping Ground and share a photo of their work desk. It’s fun… check it out or – even better – join the tribe!)
Every now and then I create a scrapbook layout, just to preserve photos and memories so I usually don’t show it on my blog but since it’s my son’s birthday tomorrow I show you this layout that I created last winter.
I got the idea from Pinterest where some lady combined two photos on a layout (can’t remember her name though.) I combined two pics of my son, the photo on the left was taken when he was three years old (1995) and the right photo is from last year.
No matter what I’m busy with, I keep track of my days by creating spreads in my ‘Chronicles’ art journal on a weekly basis. I have four weeks to show but I don’t want to overload you, so I show you just two.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I always love to see what’s on your desk. You show everything so plainly.
That is an amazing layout of your son. Wonderful and quite unique, even if it wasn’t your idea originally. I also enjoyed seeing your latest chronicles, too. Happy WOYWW from #1.
wow! How wonderful to create one photo from two…… love what you did!
Have a good week

wow that layout is really clever! Great labelling on your desk . Karen #23
Art journal is looking good. Your desk is so interesting with a place for everything and everything in its place. Thanks for sharing – Hazel WOYWW #15 x
Hi Marit, wow, your son hasn’t really changed in his features, has he? I’m really lucky with my Hubby, he’s a computer whizz too, but can build pretty much anything. I think it’s the engineer in him, lol. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #2 XxX
Cool pages, Marit and what a great idea with the photos! Your little boy has certainly grown up and 1995 doesn’t even seem that long ago! Have a lovely week! zsuzsa #26
Thanks for calling by at mine earlier. I’m just grabbing a bit of lunch having sewn like crazy all morning….and it’s going well so far thankfully.
What a fab idea for the LO.
Hugs,
Annie x #13
Hi Marit. I love the lay out of your son – so uncluttered. Beautiful – grown into a handsome young man!!
Take care. God bless.

Love that layout of your son. That is a fun way to look back. The chronicles are such a better idea than a daily spread as life is hopefully quite routine. Well off to clean up my mess. have a great week
Monica
Hi Marit, thanks for your visit earlier. I really love your desk and the way you keep it so clean and label it all, I have lots of those sweet tins, a friend gives them to me, I’m keeping them just in case I need a container!
I like the half and half photo of your son, he hasn’t changed really, it’s a great idea.
Happy WOYWW

Great work on show today, I love the layout you did with your son’s photos – what a very original and interesting idea – it works really well. Your Chronicle pages are looking good too.
Hope you have a good week,
Diana x #24
What a unique page of your son! Really shows the changes of youth! Great desk, very neatly labeled. Interesting Chronicle pages, too. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Marit, seeing your journal has reminded me of all the magazine pages I’ve kept and not used, must get them out soon. Do you know I don’t actually think your son has changes that much, it must be the eyes. Thanks for the visit to mine and happy woyww, Angela x10x
I just love the layout of your son… what a fantastic idea. Thanks for sharing. Caro x (#38)
what a great idea to combine the two photos…
thanks for stopping by – it seems odd, a world cup without the beautiful dutch players and fans! Helen #3
Hi Marit, love your layout. That is such a good idea for a then and now layout. Your son doesn’t seem to have changed much over the years at all. I think I’d find it difficult to find two photos of my children when they were young to contrast with how they look now. Thanks for sharing. I hope you found some time to sit out on your balcony today as hoped.. Elizabeth x #32
Hi Marit, OOHH I love what you are doing with the photographs of your son, that is very cool 🙂 I just love how clean and how much space you have on your desk too 🙂 ~Stacy #36
I’m back to thank you for linking for my blog candy. xx
Hi there. Great idea with the two photos of your son. Thanks for popping by. Anne x #11
Fascinating post, Marit. Your layouts are most unusual! I’ve never seen that split photo technique before. I love your use of “white” space too, which really shows off the designs to perfection. I love your annotated photo of your desk, which looks very organised and clean (not like mine at the moment!). I like the way you’ve highlighted the text just with a blurred white background which is very effective. Must remember that one! Thank you for your comment and I’m glad you enjoyed our kitties this week. That yoghurt tecnique for aging concrete etc. does sound rather bizarre but my hubby assures me it works! (Trust the kitties to lick it off!) I agree it was a miracle I got my book back. I was definitely meant to have it.
Happy WOYWW and have a great week,
Shoshi #28
Love that layout idea – so weird how he has changed but also hasn’t. very clever! Thanks for your earlier visit Happy Wednesday! Cindy #19
Hi Marit, that’s a great idea with the photos of your son. I might need to borrow that idea! Your desk is lovely and tidy as always! Thanks for stopping by earlier and have a lovely week Heather x #9
I absolutely love your Chronicles! It’s such a great idea to journal on a weekly basis too, since it wouldn’t be as overwhelming as trying to do it daily. I also love the artsy way in which you did the scrapbook page of your son. I need to find some pics of my girls to do that with. Thanks for your visit to my blog and blessed WOYWW!
Great layout of your son! I love scrapbooking! Thanks for sharing A look at your space. Thanks for stopping by my space earlier. #36
Oh Marit everything is so perfectly placed, a crafter’s heavenly paradise. Love the size of your Chronicles journal just perfect and your Son still has the widest of smiles.
Thank you for sharing WOYWW and your sweet visit yesterday.
Happy creative days Tracey #5
Good morning, Marit. Thanks for the visit this week. I always love seeing your desk. Great layout of your son. I also like your Chronicle journal. May have to look at that for a future project. Wouldn’t even have to be a full year, but maybe a medical journey or something as joyful as a birth or wedding – from engagement to wedding kind of timeline. Super idea. Now you have me thinking LOL Creative Blessings, Kelly #29
The split face of your son is brilliant! I must try it! The photo (I think) on your current chronicles page, the girl on the left with the long hair – I have that in a stamp! I use it a lot, one of my fav’s! I think its by Meer Image. I loved those steampunk hats at ArtFest too, but I bet they would be hot to wear in the summer! And I think the odds are pretty good that my DD will be married next to water of some sort! Thanks for your visit, have a great week, Lindart #41
Happy Belated WOYWW and thanks for your earlier visit. Great journal pages. I may try that technique with some family photos. Yes, the stickers I bought are fab. I looked at them more closely today, and realised that both sheets in each set are different. I may go back for some more tomorrow when I am in town for a craft workshop. Ali x #27
That LO of your son is fantastic – what a brilliant idea and how good the two photos look together – the one and same person – wow!
Love your Chronicles – I really must do something like that myself one day – when I get a moment.
I was very impressed when I first came on today, your desk looks so tidy and organised – very nice indeed.
Hugs, Neet 6 xx
