to run without leaving home

Goodmorning y’all, how are you doing in the midst of this pandemic? I hope you are healthy and stay inside as much as possible. I don’t have much words for everything that is happening right now, so I sit in my atelier and cut out images to create collages. A friend of mine dropped art-magazines in my mailbox and there’s a lot of new inspiration there (thank you Anke!) And I admire the beautiful photos that my friend took last week. I choose this one to write a haiku with…

Friday haiku

Het strand weids en stil
Alleen het oorverdovend
ruisen van de zee
The beach wide open
Only the deafening roar
of the breaking waves

The photo was taken by my friend Lena Schreijenberg

I submit this haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share a haiku on Friday: Haiku my Heart

The spreads I created for week 10 and 11 were rather desolate and I needed some colours and fun images to balance it…

The Chronicles of Marit 2020 – Week 12

That quote was on my white board for ages and now was the perfect time to use it in my art journal…

Enjoy your day, make art and stay safe!

Je t’embrasse

My art can be found in galleries on my website. Unless otherwise stated, all photos, images, thoughts and stories on the website as well as on this blog are my own (Marit Barentsen aka Marit’s Paper World.) If you see something you want to share, please link back to my site to give credit where credit is due. I sometimes use photo’s that are not my own to illustrate my stories. If so, I try to give credit to the original photographer or maker. If you have any reason to complain about the use of an image, contact me and I will remove it without discussion.
