I woke up very early this morning with one sentence in mind
“vulnerable morning”
I tasted the words in my mouth.
An image came to mind.
I wrote a haiku.

Haiku my Heart Friday is hosted by Rebecca.

After such a delicate start of the day it would not be appropriate
to publish ‘screaming art’ – like a bright coloured art journal page
or drawings – so instead I continue this post with showing the most
gentle art I made a couple of weeks ago.
Letters from the Wasteland – 13th letter
Size: 16 x 11 cm - 6.3 x 4.3 inch. Materials used: gesso, alcohol ink, tissue paper, mod podge, white sharpie, cut out text from an old fairy tale book.
Letters from the wasteland – 14th letter
Size: 16 x 11 cm - 6.3 x 4.3 inch. Materials used: paper containing pieces of straw, washi tape, several paper scraps (thank you Patty!), black sharpie, cut out text from an old fairy tale book.
This is the last page in the handmade journal ‘Letters from the Wasteland’
(See this post for photos of the journal) but I don’t rule out that there will
appear any more ‘letters’ in the future.
Have a nice weekend dear ones.
Raise early.
Look up to the sky.
Spread some love.
Live each day to the fullest.
dit soort verstilde kunstwerken zijn zo mooi om naar te kijken, te lezen. Dank je wel.
Your pages are amazing!!!! And loving that Haiku!! Nothing like waking up inspired!!!!
What a gentle taste in the mind this haiku leaves. By a marvelous confluence, I also used the word “gingerly” in my haiku for Rebecca’s meme today!
I do so enjoy visiting your “house.” And I really enjoy you haiku…lovely. Have a grand day! Cathy
…words on my mouth ~ lovely line and loving your collage creations ~ very beautiful ~~ thanks, ^_^ (A Creative Harbor)
Sending waves of love and light around your vulnerable heart. Mine feels similarly this morning. The world needs us and our gentle love so badly.
Live well this lovely summer weekend, my Beautiful Friend.
Love the haiku. Your talents are bountiful and amazing!
marit your haiku is lovely and i can only hope as this new day unfolds we will all offer more love and kindness and chase the shadows away.
Love this! BTW, the first paper project looks like the photo, right down to the reflection…
Libby, I had not seen that but you are right, it DOES has the same feel as the photo. I made the ‘letters’ a couple of weeks ago and found the photo only this morning… it’s wonderful how they seem to connect!
Great depiction in the haiku.
Just beautiful!
I can feel the mornings uncertainty….your artwork is lovely and meaningful…
Hi Marit,
I’m loving that first journal page, it’s so exquisite. It reminds me of when I watch a program on spelunking, with the stalagmites and stalactites. Really beautiful. Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
Best,
Jenn
Here I am… stepping into this morning beauty that you share, evoking my own time spent in your beautiful country and friendship and marveling at the brilliance of your beloved making it possible for me to visit you here today… I have found that in letting go… I find myself, and find the door open to my heart. Thank you Marit… XO

Je ‘letters from the wasteland’ blijven mijn absolute favoriet en passen inderdaad perfect bij de haiku van vandaag. Prachtig.
Hi Marit!!!! popping by to see what you’ve been up to. Fabulous art, very fitting for the theme of the day. =) you are always so inspirational. hope you are getting good use of your sharpie. If you need more of those, just let me know and I’ll hook you up. I wasn’t sure if I extended that offer before. my memory is bad.
Happy Friday!!!
AMAZING
your words and artwork always touch my heart and today is no exception
you used those bits so beautifully…thank you for the kind mention dear one
here in the states we are trying to hold it together after another senseless tragedy and more gun madness
tears are close very to the surface…
sometimes life makes no sense…
Love is the question…
Love is the answer…
Blessings to you and yours

Isn’t it amazing how the world can go from night to day so shyly? Then, on another day it can explode on us without warning.
I love that phrase…vulnerable morning. It can lead to so many things, and hopefully all positive! Great work!
I like the vulnerable dawn ~ Stunning picture to match too ~ Lovely share ~

If I had THIS to rise early to greet…I would!
Oh dear Marit, thank you for honouring the tenderness of dawn and reminding me to feel for that fragile promise of infinite possibility that it brings to the world, day after day, morning after morning. I, too, can taste your words.
